Pakistan have won 3 back to back matches after losing the opening match against India. Credit goes to Sarfaraz and the team management for getting rid of TTFs like Shehzad and Wahab.

Fakhar Zaman even though he was playing his first few matches looked to score runs and contribute to the team's total rather than playing for himself like Shehzad.

I don't think Pakistan could have restricted Sri Lanka and England to a low total if Wahab was in the team. Raees, Fahim, Hassan, Junaid all of them bowled well.

But it is very important for them and the fans to stay grounded. How many times have we seen new guys coming into the team giving their all and then after becoming a regular name on the team sheet they start taking things for granted.

More than the performance the main reason of such players downfall is the inability to handle the newly founded fame and success. Same happened with Shehzad, Tanvir, Umar Akmal, Maqsood, Wahab. Everything looks good and flawless when team is winning so its important to stay grounded and keep working hard.

No one would respond to sensible threads like these. Yes, if you had made it a bit more masaledaar by throwing in an Indo Pak contest or A vs B comparison, then we would have seen a lot of traffic.

On topic, I think this is a great beginning and Pakistan should go places from here. Only one way from here for Pakistan and it is UP. Bowling combination looks amazing. I wouldn't blame them if they are in cloud 9. Every reason to be.

absolutely...this is where leadership and mentorship comes into play

Misbah was atrocious at this...he had no 'danda' which some of these kids need. Hopefully Sarfraz can do such...

Agree, and this is actually pretty scary looking at the history of young Pakistani players performing well when coming into the scene.

Umar Akmal was compared to Sachin Paaji

Sohaib Maqsood compared with the mighty Inzi

Nasir Jamshed was thought to be the second coming of Anwar

Hasan Raza the young spinner blew it all

And there just so much more.

The difference now is that Mickey Arthur is at the helm and he's gotta be the most professional coaches around, he knows how to manage players but it is up to the players as well. He will turn out to be the second best coach for Pakistan after the late Bob Whoolmer. Although it has yet to be seen if Arthur can combat PCB politics and corruption.

Fame is part and parcel. Players will have to go through the process. I just hope that Fakhar does not go through the Nasir Jamshaid route

Not just to stay grounded, but to carry on working hard and look to improve. I feel that's why the seniors aren't 'seniors' because they think experience = a place in the starting XI, rather than attributes like attitude, work ethic, consistency, etc.

Could not agree with you more

If they want to achieve something they need to keep working hard otherwise they will go on the nasir, umar akmal way

Pakistan need strong youngsters

Guys that play fearless

Play the Pakistani way, whenever you copy someone you fail and you don't match your potential forget about the person you want to copy.

Say if I want to copy someone,I will never go what they had to go through,Say if I'm batting like them exactly and he got lucky,I might not get lucky.

You should follow your own path to sucsess

This is why I like I few upcoming youngsters,They are there own person and us fans shouldn't compare as well

if it were up to me, i'd ban social media for all of these players for indefinite time.

young pakistani players have a really bad track record with social media. umer akmal and ahmed shehzad's case in point.

i hope mickey makes them work a lot harder than other coaches.

we have a good nucleus of players available - they may not be world beaters or in the class of previous legends produced by the region, but if protected, they'll keep us afloat in the international scene.

we probably also need to go back to uae and get better pitches - enough of those dead slow pitches that don't aid for stroke play. latif and sharjeel played such beautiful horizontal bat strokes in england that i was blown away, then we came back to uae and all those strokes were shelved.

we need to get this crop of ours disciplined and far away from the evils of fame, some of them have the potential to be good players.

Thanks to these youngsters, it's probably the longest period to not have a new thread for Akmals.

Right now we are witnessing a stretch that doesn't have an Akmal thread.

Who would've thought ?.

As long they are not in the U.K. cutting ribbons to open ice cream shops or making friends with the usual shady crowd, they will be fine.

The passion from players like Hasan is amazing

Reason why Sharjeel should never return
Fixing = no passion

Well said. Under a pro coach like Arthur these guys will keep improving. So it's important they keep grounded.

Enjoy the Fame and work hard too,no need to stay grounded and all,can have self confidence.
Intl performance that leads to team victory is what is important, staying grounded or not don't care.

Good advise to any new Pakistani player the world is watching you and you are only here because of your performance on the field . Your career has just started in international and all the prayers and blessings in this holy month of Ramadaan is showering upon you.

Play hard but worker twice as hard especially on fitness and don't let fame blind you . InshaAllah you will have a bright future ahead of you .
