As much as Srilanka vs India in 1996 and vs NZ in 1992. Jayasuriya/Kalu scored 42 in first 3 overs. India never recovered. Then Mark Greatbatch in 1992. Early assault can jolt any team.

Spin is being underrated on these pitches. The first round of matches saw most teams using spin in PP. The big grounds make it harder to hit the slower balls for a boundary
 
So losing wickets playing big shots and still not scoring many. Thus is how we want Pakistan openers to bat.

Accelerating will be hard. You must make use of power play. No choice. I already told Australia is not a good T20 side as everyone raves about.
 
This is a predictable batting line up. You know how everyone bats. Should have used Cameron Green in this as opener. Dynamic opener is needed.

In their defense you don't plan for 37/3. It just happens. THey had to take chance inside power play. On bigger grounds you need head start. once the field spreads you will be under huge pressure to maintain the rate.
 
This is what scoreboard pressure does in a T20. You are always in the game with the big score even if other team is going at good rate. One or two good overs by fielding side can change the game.
If Pakistan somehow scores 180 regularly in this world cup they would be unbeatable.
 
I thought Daryl mitchell's absence and Kane williamson's "presence" would hurt them :) Conway more than made it up.

Indian team has its own set of issues. Both teams will enter the field with some nerves. Whoever can control them will come on top tomorrow.
 
Usually in the one dayers world cup Australia come very hard right from the get go against oppositions. Gilchrist era team. That is pretty much what happened today. They came very hard. Before they realized they ran away. Timid teams will fumble.

Indian batting isn’t really an issue

They will post 180+ easily or whatever the par score is according to the conditions

Pakistan will want to use 3 spinners against SA at the SCG. Ball is turning big for Santner who is not exactly a great turner.
 
Only Babar and Rizwan are capable of giving great starts chasing 180+ totals.
Aus just wilted under the pressure.They need to learn from Babar and Rizwan on how to mix aggression with caution. I mean they have mastered this art
 
Time for Australia to play for NRR now.

Or their tournament could end today itself.
 
NZ’s out-cricket has been absolutely superb. Looks like they are in pole position to win this match.

to be fair, Warner is normally in beast mode, and more so at SCG. His dismissal was freak. Even though he survived one thru th slips. But one misfiring maxwell does not an aus side make. I just feel they will be back and firing even if they loose this.

Australia lost 5 series prior to world T20 in UAE. They fluked a UAE win due to toss. Finch himself admitted. England almost blanked them. Lost warm up. Now getting canned by NZ. Maxwell is their key player who can produce 40 ball 70 or 80. They miss his form.

Because I didn’t see them demonstrating the art they mastered against Sri Lanka, England and NZ in 3 back to back finals :)))

I choose to see 152-0 and 185 against India in Asia cup.
