New Zealand (320/5) defeat Pakistan (260) comfortably by 60 runs to clinch triumph in the inaugural match of ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Why do Pakistani batters always make it so hard for themselves to chase these kind of totals by batting super slow in initial overs.

Few times they nailed it with this approach but god damn it this approach drives your anxiety levels through the roof!
I think tempo instructions come from management.

Cause they are professional
They are fit

Look at the physique of Glenn phillips

He does 800 pushups apparently day which I call bs

The way I do push ups I can guarantee no one is doing past 200

Proper push ups is extremely hard. Going all the way down and up. Not half effort push ups by flaring out elbows and doing lightning fast push ups.

Try clap push ups and explosive push ups it’s even harder

And then there is weighted push ups

Obviously Glenn works out hard. He is super fit

But no way he does that many.
This post went from appreciation of NZ cricket to push up techniques pretty rapidly I must say

Have seen handicap matches in WWE. Seeing a first one in cricket.

Pakistan and the theatrics. Cornered tigers. Forever heroes. But zeroes where it matters.

Hayden: The floodlights in Karachi are low, which means if the ball is skied, you lose any sense of depth perception of where the ball is.

interesting

It's hard for Babar to bat today. He's a strike rotator. He likes to find gaps and constantly run but is obviously handicapped right now with Fakhar's injury. At least he's still out there

In my honest opinion, Pakistan should not worry about this target from this stage. But Babar need to score a century today.

The fans have been coming out in flocks to see him perform and he has let them down so far. Today he needs to score a ton for them.

@heddie19 will scream gleefully as Babar scores his century and Pakistan loses the match.

He will also add that to his list of useless Babar scores when asked about matches where Babar performed.

@Major @daytrader

This is why I told you why babar and rizwan are not the 2 best pakistani odi batters to ever exist.

They have zero impact, infact even though fakhar is injured and isn't using his feet much, he's still considered more dangerous for NZ then these 2 are.

Ignoring the fact that rizzu despite playing in a very easy era can only accumulate against opposition if the bowling is utter rubbish (C side Aus, Sri Lanka and c string sa attack)

Babar has zero impact. Let's say he gets a century today. Whats the point? He has no excuse to accumulate and tuk tuk.

It's why I called him a bootleg yousaf. Yousaf couldn't kick off in tournaments, but in odi bi laterals againat full strength teams and test he was class.

And saeed Anwar + ijaz ahmed was a proper minnows bashers while babar and rizwan can only accumulate against minnows.

Stats only matter in test cricket where your avg across countries defines who you are as a batter. In this age? Odi stats are irrelevant.

This version of Babar isn't half the player that Yousuf was no matter what the numbers say. Cannot play spin, can't play bounce, can't play swing, cannot accelerate, & just doesn't have any crease presence.

NZ were saving Santner till Fakhar got out & that's what he did. They don't even practice reverse paddles, reverse sweeps, or anything else. Every single player has one shot, hoick to the leg side.

This Ceasers circus is devoid of good clowns.
