New Zealand (330/6) defeat Pakistan (252/9) comfortably by 78 runs in the first match of the Tri-Nation ODI series 2025

Sufyan muqeem.shud have played and akif javed..naseem is toothless and abrar is useless in my opinion. These pitches are flat anyways

The ground without any roof looks so bad.

They rushed this so much and celebrating it like they did it in 100 days without roofs.

Despite the refurbishment it looks outdated.

I'm not a fan of Williamson but he's been very consistent despite being slow, again not a fan but I'd rather prefer a consistently 40 avg batter over someone who's basically been a walking wicket.

But babar has improved, sa showed signs of it.

You can't make a case for someone like KW while simultaneously bagging Babar.

And Shaheen's poor against lefties, making the situation even trickier. They can try fitting in Faheem in the playing XI for another pace option.

Never said it isn't. Difference is NZ is packed with high sr players.

Pakistan isn't packed with high impact players minus fakhar.

Now if saim was added into the mix then yes I'd agree with you.
 
I know he just got out, but I have a feeling Rachin Ravindra will score alot of runs in this tournament. Hopefully not against us.
 
Can someone fill me in as to why Faheem ashraf and kushdil shah have been selected. Have they transformed them selves recently because Both pure tried and tested failures especially Kushhdil who never looks like he belongs at this level. Furthermore why are we only playing one spinner ?
 
Good catch by Abrar. That wicket will be a confidence booster.

Still not convinced that our main spinner should be first change in the PP. Riz should've turned to a part timer

You're critising rizwan? That's new lol. I can't believe I'm the one who's actually saying this but he's been a solid fielding captain.

Horrible batsmen but solid fielding captain. His change got a very big and crucial wicket.
 
Because a player you didn't think was good enough is showing that he is good enough. Rather than celebrating that fact, you're trying to downplay the quality of the delivery that caused Ravindra to play that shot.

When did I say he’s not good enough?

The issue is that you're a fanboy and assume everyone else is a fan boys too , or maybe you just don’t understand bowling.

That was a poor shot by the batsman, not a well set-up wicket by Abrar or some brilliant delivery it was just an average ball.

Because I can identify players who have talent, I'm a fanboy? I think the problem is that you're a troll and can't handle it when people call you out for it.

Yea but it was a soft dismissal. The change allowed Williamson to get settled, he was struggling against the pacers.

If this is going to be our strategy it's going to backfire at some point when one of the pacers gets smashed in the PP. Abrar will be more handy in the middle with Rauf. If he gets hits early, it will give opppsition batters more confidence against the part time spinners, which would leave Riz with little wicket taking options to turn to.

Also we gotta get 10 overs for the 5th bowler somehow. Atleast 2-3 in the PP. Abrar's overs are important and should be used wisely

Fair point, but records show rachin is better against pace then he is vs spin.

Getting rid of rachin is a higher priority then Williamson getting settled.

Williamson is just an odi accumulator. He's harmless on his own.

What is your a problem if I want to do a bhagra over it? I'm a Pakistan cricket team fan, I enjoy it when my team does well. I'm not a miserable malcontent who cares more about being right.

but why though? Mitchell is looking clueless atm and ia just blocking? A spinner is more likely to get a wicket on a defensive shot then a pacer.

Only Williamson will have an easy time but he's harmless on his own lol. Williamson scoring a 50 or 70 won't impact pakistan lol.

A 120 ball 70 isn't problematic

There's a lot of smog/dust/pollution in the air. It hasn't rained in a month & the air quality will only be cleaner after that. It was expected to rain in long-term forecast but that rain never arrived.
 
It was almost impossible to buy the tickets of this match & now more than half the stadium is empty.

I cannot understand how are we able to constantly mess such things.

Also, there are VVIP tickets right next to the players dressing room but please never buy them unless you know that the match is being played on the central wicket only. They are playing on one of the side strips & I can clearly see that one of those premiere stands is all behind the screen. Very well planned & executed
 
If ODIs don't die naturally williamson will definitely accelerate it. What an eyesore he is. May be the pitch is sluggish? BUt kane's career strike rate of 81 shows what a massive statpadder he is depsite playing on those pocket sized grounds.
