Yea but atleast select U21 domestic players with atleast 15 FC games and a decent List A and T20 record instead of these no bodies , it’s not that such players doesn’t exist in our domestic cricket.

They selected the players with the most power and hitting ability even if they can’t time the ball or play swing or bounce but they hit very hard, could had send wrestlers by that logic.

A lot of the issues came after t20 wc 2022. I know we weren’t great before either, but we went mad after this event. We went absolutely crazy for not winning despite coming finalists when we were nowhere near the favourites. This led to a series of captaincy changes (Babar should have left but he shouldn’t have been brought back nor captains like Shaheen appointed than immediately sacked), changes in formation and players, bringing back people from the past, bringing in guys like Azam etc. So much changing and experimentation which ruined the makeup of the side. Just panic selections and chopping and changing. Babar for example should have stepped down to 3 but he should have stayed there not up and down again.

Even a worse team on paper, if given settled positions and long runs will do better.

Changes should be small and done over time. I think the ODI and T20 teams should have also been more or less similar in order to allow better practice too.

This is the problem there is just way to much pressure on the team and way too much panic and emotions from selection committee and over experimentation.

I have seen Indian batters like Jaiswal on bouncy pacy pitches like Perth use it to their advantage by late gluiding ramping the short ball just outside off stump, or aimed at their body over the keeper and slips. Even the NZ commentators commented that is what the Pakistani batsmen should have tried to do in the opening overs instead of those whaffs outside offstump or swings towards midwicket which had high risks of failures. Our batsmen don't have the game smarts or awareness to think on their feet and adapt accordingly

It won't make a difference to those that are convinced Rizwan and Babar are the only things wrong with Pakistan cricket. They are convinced these guys will come good even when the evidence is clear. You can't take someone like Shadab for example and develop him into a functioning cricketer. The two openers today should not even be there on their career performance to date but for some at least they are "attacking" batsmen. Hacks for everyone else though.
