New Zealand will be looking to reverse their form of last 18 months losing all five series deciders (ODI/T20) plus the Tri-series final.

NZ currently 70/4 are looking like making that 6 straight. It's not just the number of defeats or a coincidence, it's the manner and pattern. They've either crumbled in these matches or bottled away the match when in a strong position.

Looks like this current NZ side can be mentioned among SA and England as teams who do not handle pressure well.

It's the difference between a decent team and a top team.
SA is generally a top side but they usually crumble in ICC events.

This England side look class, but cannot win an ICC trophy.

NZ have generally punched above their weight before being beat by better sides. This current side has fought and then crumbled in Deciders and Finals.

New Zealand aren't too far away from the no 1 ranking but that extra bit is lacking it's more mental than a lack of ability De Grandhomme just swiped one to midwicket ala Umar Akmal not playing the situation.

Reason why NZ are never seriously considered favourites for anything.

All Blacks rugby team is absolutely polar opposite in this regard. Wins from almost impossible situations in the last moments in crunch games.

NZ managed to make it to deciders against SA and Eng was itself a great deal. Their performance were highly dependent on individual knocks.

I think NZ have a sharp decline in their batsmen quality after positions 4/5... Find better lower order batsman and NZ will start winning these deciders. At the moment the opposition has to get through Guptill/Monro/Williamson/Taylor and the match is pretty much won. Their bowling is one of the best going round, but LOI victories can be set up by bowlers but it is the batsmen that will actually have to win it for you.

Agreed, too many bits and pieces players and that's an issue that goes back as far as I can remember for New Zealand.

NZ won 2/2 when both Kane and Taylor played. Those two together are our Kohli, if one of them fails the other steps up and carries the innings.
