New Zealand v Pakistan | 2nd Test | Hamilton | Nov 25-29, 2016 | Day 5

Pak will lose wickets if they play this slowly. Only a matter of time before they get out to a Jaffa.
 
I'm just going to stop checking the scorecard for a while then hope for a much better RR the next time I look. But with these two batting that's highly unlikely.

Sami has taken the misbah tuk tuk to whole new level. I mean he is out doing azhar, and this is some achievement.

Well it's not looking likely to happen, however scoring 370 in the 4th innings is no joke and if any team would achieve that and win a Test, certainly the majority of the credit would have to go to the batting team.
 
As a cricket fan with my Pakistan cap off, I really do hope Pakistan lose if they are to play like this
 
Difficult situation for Pakistan.

If they lose whilst going for the chase they'll be massacred by the fans and the same will happen if they lose by attempting to draw. This is a no win situation.

I think this is a brilliant workout for the batters. Now they can hone their short ball technique against Wagner.

The failure to schedule enough warm up matches in Australia has made this the warm up.
 
Pak managment should have announced either of this 1)we are going for draw throughout or 2) we are not even going to attempt the target in first session no matter what and fans are entitled to sleep atleast till 5:30 am pak time and don't have to watch this trash.
 
Breaking it down, if we could get 100 runs by lunch, then 120 in the next 30 overs after that, we would need around 150 in the final session. Still possible if these two can get a move on!!!!!
 
This is embarrassing. It's hard to imagine a few months ago we were the no1 side in the world. Were playing like minnows.

Styris is having a dig at Rizwan, seems little disrespectful to me. Give the guy a break it was only his first ever inning at this level.

No one will blame them if they go for the chase apart from 2-3 peoples here who think being number 1 for one week really mean something.
We lose the serie if we don't won today who care about1-0 or 2-0.
Anyway if they keep playing like that it's going to finish pretty quickly,runs aren't moving so it will added pressure for the newcomers and it's not like there was decent swing/seam to nulify
so there is no point playing like this.
Williamson is not a good captain and he panics quite quickly.
 
LMAO waqar is appreciating this approach, now i know why we batted like chickens even in ODIs in a little tough situations,
 
Worth noting, that NZ scored 2 an over in their second innings for the first 15 overs, despite a lead of 50 odd.
 
Why can't you play more of these punches and drives. Best way to play variable bounce is to forget it and play as if pitch is normally

I agree that the batting should be faster paced, should be trying to bat at least at a normal rate of 2-3 RPO but conditions are difficult and therefore some leeway should be given to the batsmen too - Sami got hit on the helmet just a few balls ago. Clearly batting isn't as easy as most on here are thinking it is, it's not like the Pakistani team don't want to win the match any less than Pakistani supporters and if anyone thinks that then they are deluded.
 
hope this bouncer shake things up for sami. Attritional batting is one thing but surely it is not this, It is his sheer lack of ability to find gaps with only three men at leg side where he is supposed to be strong.Ball is not doing anything and Batsmen are not doing anything.

If they were playong at 2rpo i would understand they are trying to chase it without losing many wickets in beetween but right now they are going no where.
And don't be mistaken with pitch starting to have irregular bounce the easiest time to score runs was at the start when the ball was new and coming onto the bat nicely.

What will a draw achieve. We are blocking our way to a series loss. Brainless and cowardly stuff.
 
Singles at last, keep it to singles and doubles. Ne need to go for boundaries unless they get a bad ball.

The only thing in doubt is the Cricket IQ of some posters who think Pakistan are the best team and then the worst team in the world after each series.

The more we advance the more there is going to be irregular bounce and this is what is causing them problem right now and you need to put some pressure on the bowling sides to make thing easier.
