This is what happens when you play with 3.25 batsmen (1 Hafeez + 1 Babar + 0.5 Malik + 0.5 Sarfraz + 0.25 Rizwan). Both Sarfraz and Rizwan need to be dropped from the team. They are not good enough to be in LOIs. Sarfraz has been absolutely pathetic this tour. Ignore all the stats and look at each innings sarfi has played. He has given countless catching opportunities and todays innings just exemplified how he is not a hitter.
 
We are 40-50 short but we have a good pace attack. Key will be new ball and how malik's overs are used.

Idk it could go either way with out middle and lower order.

If McCullum and Guptill get off to a good start then it will probably be easy, but if they go cheaply Pakistan have a good chance.
 
Didn't see the match, but it seems that the momentum prolly is with NZ now.
Flat pitch or not, the batting will get a good look in.
 
Amir will be challenged today, two aggressive batters.

291 is defendable, but only if we can take 3/4 NZ wickets within the first 10.
 
Pak have a 30% but they will need early wickets especially Guptill and BM.
 
Key is getting McCullum and Guptill
Amir and Irfan can trouble the batsmen on this sort of pitch.
 
Not at this pitch i guess. But again pak has lost advantage like in 1st odi.

But bowlers if they do a good job can defend this.
 
Pathetic batting display by sarfi and you don't expect much from the pak tail.
 
I would give malik an over against mcullum in first few overs see if he can get him stumps. Be Brave and Become good Captian azhar, Otherwise we all know he is heading to misbah ways.

No it isn't, not on this ground on this pitch.

330 would have been decent.

I won't totally write off Pak but they need to bowl very well and take every catch.
 
The pitch is super good to bat on, so NZ will win easily and for that reason I am off to sleep, it was fun while it lasted :))
 
NZ will chase it inside 45 overs

Pitch is flat, ground is small and NZ are confident as they converted a 350 total into 290

According to our Karachi friend [MENTION=135196]waleed88[/MENTION] sarfi was unlucky and tried his best and played a majestic inning and simply ran out of partners before he could get us to 350 in the last 2 overs.

Not gonna happen. Azhar will most likely bowl all 4 of the pacers before introducing himself or Malik. He doesn't think outside of the box.
 
What?! you're giving Hafeez a whole 1? you're insane. He's an opener who seldom performs. And you want Sarfraz dropped? He's a good wicket keeper and he's alright with the bat at the spot he comes in to bat. Throughout the series, he's not one who wasted balls. Hafeez did. You need to re-evaluate your list bro.

I duno when Pakistan is going to pull out of this pit. It's been years! Why aren't we seeing an improvement in their batting? So disappointing.

What time is it in Pindi? Also, a moment of silence for all the haters who don't know what we know! And that is the legend of Dr.Kukdre, the kiwi bowlers would have awarded us an extra 70 runs during the last 5 overs then to bowl at him if he was selected! politics yaar, somebody influential at the PCB is holding him back :(

Exactly, too much politics going on man. With the Doc in the team, we'd have won the game even with half the score we have right now! :))
 
How long can a nonperforming captain last in the side. Azhar has been failing for a while now.

He is the chosen one. They persisted with him even when he threw in the towel, it just goes to show he's not going anywhere from the perspective of the PCB

I think, this attack is better than 3 + Malik + Anwar. At least it has a chance to take wickets. Hope Azhar opens with Rahat.

However, better combination would have been Imad for Rizwan. If 6 can't do on such a belter, 8 won't do either. Today PAK failed to play out 50 overs because none of 3 & 4 converted in hundred after reaching 70 on such belter & the openers gave Associate level start; then Rizwan took things comfortably.

Misbah defended 232 on this track, by all out approach - that's only way PAK can win; get 10 wickets inside 45 overs or lose inside 45. If Kiwis are allowed to play till 49 overs, Azhar 'll fulfill his KPI - respectable defeat.

Irfan with a blinder! whatever happens today, they have to carry him off the pitch! wonderful performance with the bat and outstanding in the field, made my night already! that was one for the ages, what a moment. And so true, everyone either try and make a name for themselves by feuding with us or are just spiteful of our main-event status
 
This guy Aamir is such a stupid - with his look, with his caliber, in this era of media mockery, he would have been someone like Khan (Imran or Shahrukh or Shahid; whoever you think has a better appeal in Pakistan); opted to earn few dollars more too early.

This wicket has pace, more than I thought; Wahab should be asked to bowl flat out.
 
With this batting style guptil will either score 50 off 30 or get out soon.
 
Heartening to see Amir swinging into right handers. He just needs to get his line right
