The way people are hyping up this score you might think nz have scored 280+. It's only 240.

No way in hell is it only 60-40 to eng it's more like 80-20.

The hate for England is too much on this thread. The irony is that most people here are British Pakistanis.
 
I'm completely baffled on one thing. Who ducks at the last ball of the innings and that too on a wc final!?
 
If NZ can get Roy and Root early they will be big time in the game.
 
England will win it even before 35 overs. Root is technically the greatest batsman in the world. Bairstow and Roy are the most dangerous and consistent openers the world has ever seen. No way they are losing this. Literally a walk in the park.
 
Nz really needed about 265 to put pressure on England.
England to win their 1st ever 50 over world cup.

Add 10 runs of Neesham and about 20 from QDG. That's the 30 run difference. They both let NZ down

This is gonna be close. England are professional chokers so don't think expect them to win this easily. Plus the pitch is slowing up and with the bowlers that NZ have got this won't be easy.
 
Man if NZ win this, they will be the team that defended 240 against the two best teams in the world.

Best time to bat is with the new ball. If England get off to a flyer , should be an easy win. If NZ can get early wickets, handling Neesham, CDG , and Santner won't be easy in the middle overs.
 
Naseer did say at the end of NZ innings that pitch is slowing up.
 
Guess we’ll get to see how Englishmen cope with the pressure of chasing in a big final. I foresee an epic collapse and England getting bundled out inside 150. And NO bairstow and Roy aren’t going to score yet another 100 run partnership, both are due a failure owing to the law of averages.

True but that is why trying to dictate the way in first 10 overs for Eng can be double edged sword if they lose early wickets.

Bairstow has already had his fair share of failures.
He got out relatively early last match and has 2 ducks. I'll be surprised if he doesn't score today.
 
If any team can win this one, it is New Zealand.

To those saying NZ is 30-40 runs short, I don’t think it matters given the ferocious English batting lineup, either they’ll chase it down within 30-35 overs or they’ll crumble under pressure as they usually do and won’t even reach 200. So it’s pointless IMO, if they get off to a flyer in the first 10 overs, then the game is probably gone which is why it’s important for kiwis to get early breakthroughs in the first power play.
 
Roy , Bairstow, Root will now show the so called world no. 1 and no. 2 batsman , how to chase.
 
Need 2 wickets down in first 10 overs and not more than 30 runs given.

These kind of things start appearing in every major sports tournament. I still remember an octopus who was used to for football world cup 2010 predictions.

This umpires call is the worst thing. If it's hitting wickets it should be out. Simple as that.
 
Umpiring standards havent been impressive at all
 
Erasmus first gave Taylor wrongly out and their again an average kind of decision
