New Zealand vs Pakistan | 5th ODI | Wellington | Jan 19, 2018 | New Zealand innings

Pakistan batting would be tested , they need to win this , to get some confidence for 20 20 series.

PAK bowled well actually - kung fu style batting could have made it 214/7 in 35 overs.

I back PAK to make it much closer than previous similar target - no pressure of earning something apart from numbers.

It's no competition, I expected 5-0 abeit a lot more competitive games.

Hell, we've given Pakistan slower wickets and they still haven't managed to compete or win.
 
Im still temped to open the batting again with Faheem on this track. The guy's confidence is sky high at the moment and he is continuing to improve

Pakistan have bowled well no doubt, still have left runs out here.

We should be able to chase this. Azhar and malik both are out and no Imam either. Weil Amin, Harris are in
 
So many posters here can be seen bashing Fahim's bowling and calling him a trundler. He's very smart with his line and length, plus can clock upwards of 140 when he wants to. Has EASILY bowled much, much better than Amir, but guess who will still get defended even after bowling pure rubbish. He has real potential to turn into a good all rounder. Most people on here have zero analytical ability.
 
Sarfraz has some issues with bowling count - Yamin is going to bowl the last over with CG on strike.
 
First time in my 41 years of life I miss Pakistan cricket match half of the session
 
Back pakistan to win this. If they cant then they might as well pack their bags and go home. Forget the T20s

One of the reason NZ will have hard time at WC, because their team is mostly tailor made for NZ conditions. Those guys are not well rounded enough.
In 2015, I was pretty sure NZ cannot win WC, since final was in AUS. Same is true about India, they are tailor made for Sub Contient conditions.

AUS/ENG/SA has variety to win anywhere, better than rest of us.
 
Good comeback by Pakistan after 50 in 5 overs and 200 in 40 overs. Must bat well now.

Old ball isn't a problem - JK, Shinwari will do even better that Raees, Fahim. Find some one who can use the new ball. At 5'8/9", Fahim isn't going to do that with 140K thunder bolts - either he has to grow 12-15cm or add 12-15KM..

How can you have the ability of bowling that pace and choose when to bowl that pace when you are getting creamed around the park?

Fair assessment, I don't think either of them are good enough for NZ conditions either tbh.

There were two events taking place, PakvNZ 5th ODI and PakPassion battle royale. Both very entertaining. Anyhow, 272 to win.

Yes over the past 2 years we have given a good 15-20 youngster chances right? Name the youngster that were brought in that didn’t perform. Shadab, Haris, Fakhar, Faheem, Rumman, Babar have all performed when brought into intl level.

Your point is illogical and you seem to be unable to back it up.
 
Really impressed with Pakistan's death bowling there. Keeping this Kiwi side to just 66 in the last 10 overs with 8 wickets in hand!

But the pitch is slow and the ground is big, so it could be a tough chase.

Pakistan need to bring back Umar. Akmal and give him opening role permanently. Him along Fakhar we can have a decent opening pair. Dont knw what Inzi has against Chota Akmal, he is a decent odi batsmen. I know he is been a little bad boi but give him 1 more chancw

How can someone of Amir's mythical 'ability' choose to bowl rubbish all the time except when he's up against India? The fact of the matter is, Fahim is still young and he'll only get better. You don't have to be express pace as an all rounder. That's a job for specialist bowlers. He's complying with his role in the team perfectly which is why I was referring to the unfair criticism he gets on here.
 
Haris Sohail was not used despite figures of 6-29-1 in the last game. [MENTION=79064]MMHS[/MENTION] do you think this is a deliberate ploy as to not damage Hafeez’s spot in the playing XI?

Shehzad debuted in 2009, Amin in 2010, Umar Akmal in 2009. How irrelvant brining up players who didn’t even debut in the 21st century just to prove your point. As if the domestic cricketers are the same in 2018 as they were in 2009 :facepalm:

As for Sami Aslam he hasn’t done bad in the test format since debuting, and he only played 3/4 odi’s so that name goes out the window as well.

Also, when exactly did he get 'creamed around the park?' Did you see the match? He bowled brilliantly throughout this innings. Give me some of that stuff you're smoking, bro.

He is not cleared for bowling, so Haris isn't his competitor. I think, his next target in the loose Test opener's spot - from mid November, he has started to open for SSGC
