What's new

No Ahmed Shehzad, no Umar Akmal, so was this loss still Misbah-ul-Haq's fault?

They misjudged the pitch, it only got slower in the first T20I as the match progressed which they didn't seem prepared for.

I think the main reason they opted to field was the dew. Both Sarfaraz and Misbah had mentioned it before the series.

Judging the pitch is also part of planning - this is not UAE and PAK was playing at the heart of their cricket HQ!!!! Regarding dew, I believe it was 6:30pm start means by the time dew really starts to affect (around 9pm), a T20 game should be almost over. Against this inexperienced SRL lineup, what PAK needed was to bat out 20 overs and then make the chase tight - they would have crumbled under pressure.

He is head coach and selector so either way he will be fault for the poor performance and poor selection.

Told you as well as warned by many expertises that Misbah is not ready for that kind of responsibility never mind the fact that he is unfit for modern cutting-edge game.

Malik as coach makes more sense since he helped Babar Azam and Haris Sohail integrate better in terms of strike rotating and keeping run rate so competitive. Malik knows the modern game well. Misbah? Well, let’s say cassette cannot work on MP3 players and for those who don’t know cassette, that is point.

In Akmal and Shehzad's case, the reasons started well before MA became coach. Waqar was the one that wanted them out

Yes but even after scoring some runs in the PSL , UA was in the mix of having a return but MA gave him options like one series and decided he is not a fit to the team there and then. I rmb he gave him a chance against AUS series, one away and one at UAE for his return and the results are there to see.

Talking about shuffling the batting order , WY is known to break the rhythm of the batsman by shuffling them , changing batting orders.

Fakhar was getting some rhythm in the ODIs and he droppped him for the t20s and played shehzad , then brought him back after shehzad failed.
