why do they make birmingham sound so dangerous as if its a crime riddled hellhole?

obv i dont know much about it since ive only been there once as a kid but i highly doubt its as bad as documentaries make it sound

Birmingham is a huge city. I haven't watched the documentary, but the immigrant communities tend to start off in the poorer areas so when it comes to Pakistanis, you will mostly see those areas highlighted I would guess.

I'm sure like any other city in Britain there would be some really posh areas where all the well heeled live, including many Pakistanis who have graduated to better lifestyles. That said, a lot of Pakistanis with money will still prefer to live in their own community.

out of curiosity which city are you from/ live in, Captain?

Mo clearly wasn't well prepared to film this documentary, said 'stuff' at least 100 times.

he says that every 5th word anyways lol

even Jayadwardene says 'you know' a gazillion times in a 30 min interview

It's all relative to which society/country the city is located in. Birmingham is very safe compared to third world cities but for a UK city it does have a big culture of gang violence. Moeen was alluding to kids from different areas fighting etc which happens everywhere. There is also a crime issue for a UK city but over all it's a safe city just like all UK cities.

Every city has bloody great bits, pretty decent bits, just about okay bits, slightly dodgy bits, and plainly lethal bits. Birmingham is no different. It also depends on the time of day. You just need to do your research ahead of visiting in order to know where and where not to go, and when.

Because it is :))

No in all seriousness, the image of Moeen Ali watching the screen when on a hat-trick with his England teammates and the delirium that follows when the wicket was given was one of the highlights of the summer.

Represents himself and his community very well.

Made Bham proud.

Just finished watching this, so good well done to the ECB.

Hard work pays off, dreams come true. Bad times don’t last, but good brummies do! :moali :moali KingKhanWC Big Mac

shaz619 He's such a down to earth geezer. I liked how he talked about his roots and how always go back to Brum to play the annual cricket match. I also found it funny how he used to hit the gap in the wall in the stoney lane ground lol.

:)) I've played there, if you manage to hit it through that gap along the ground it's 6 runs :akhtar after a while the realisation was that chukkaz are useless in the grand scheme and also the tennis balls kept getting lost in addition to complaints from the local hoodlums who hire them lovely new plate rentals.

Mo's a top guy he's always been like that, he's our very own Luke Cage everyone looks up to him and respects him. When you have the sort of upbringing Mo has and I know often it can backfire as we've seen with the likes of Mike Tyson during the negative slope (although admittedly he went through a lot) but Mo is the opposite side of the coin where you grow to appreciate everything more and look to help your people whilst never abandoning them, unlike others who disown their origins to "integrate" better beyond the wall :yk2 Quiet frankly no one has respect for suck ups and Mo is proof that you can still stay true to yourself and at the same time be an inspiration amongst all groups of people.

6 runs for finding the gap across the floor, great rule :)) :azhar

Spot on about Mo, hope he really gets to the next level of greatness this winter. I really think he will score a couple of hundreds against the Aussies.
