North Sentinel Island is an island that is officially under India.

I don't think it should be under India because it is practically an independent island. It is inhabitated by extremely hostile aboriginals who shoot at anyone (including Indians) who comes near the island.

A few years ago, a Christian missionary tried to go there but he was killed.

So, why do they get special treatments?

Discuss.

Man so many Indian related threads. The posters losing the debates against us and in frustration opening new new threads every minute

@Devadwal :rp

If it wasn’t under our dominion the indegenous population would have been massacred long time ago and there would be tourist villas there belonging to top politicians of the country.

Thanks for creating a thread about this Island to raise awareness of the phenomenal and humane role played by Bharat for this Island.

Love you Bharat 🇮🇳

I don't like the fact they get immunity for everything.

What if a sailor gets lost in the sea and ends up on that island? Will they kill the sailor? That's not logical.

If they kill innocents, they should be held accountable. :inti

Exactly what i referred to above.
Some of these other countries would have used these logics to wipe out the protected indegenous tribes there long time ago.

The way Bharat has let them
Be for centuries is a tribute to its Sanatani philosophy of live and let live.

Looks like a No go Area, more like some Kacha Bandits holding the territory and no outsider allowed

Exactly.

They shouldn't get immunity just because they are aboriginals. They kill people and get free passes. How is that logical? :inti

I think people should go there with shotguns. If they attack, attack them back in self-defense. Maybe they will get the message and not attack again. :inti

He is just salty because his kind can't pole vault their way into the island, people there are more dangerous than BSF :afridi
Indirect way they are doing great job for us. They Are showing our land to the PP Members.

Free ki publicity milne do. .

If Pakistan were in charge of that island, those poor tribesmen would've been forced to speak Urdu. 😕

I mean .. they did try to do that to Bangladesh.

On topic, I am mighty proud of my country for staying out of the tribes' way and letting them live how they choose.

Sultans, Mughals, or even British Empire should've conquered it and made it civilized. Missed opportunity. :inti

Why exactly should people go there? I understand if someone lost their way into the sea and in that case Indian Coast guard and Navy has a large presence in that area and can be rescued right off the shores.

At present, it is near impossible to land there, anybody even trying will get their behind handed over by the IN even before they make contact with the tribesmen.

I hope we will see an IPL team from this Island soon. These guys look like they will be ruthless on the cricket field.

From Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Sentinel_Island#British_visits)

Nineveh, an Indian merchant ship, was wrecked on a reef near the island. The 106 surviving passengers and crewmen landed on the beach in the ship's boat and fended off attacks by the Sentinelese. They were eventually found by a Royal Navy rescue party.

==================================

That ship didn't land there on purpose. It ended up there accidentally and yet these North Sentinels attacked them.

This was what I meant when I wrote immunity. These guys can attack and kill anyone and they can't be prosecuted. That's not fair to those who are attacked/killed. :inti

Because they don't have an immunity against the now common viruses like common cold. It's better for them to stay out of other human contact

what law? Sentinals killed a person, indian govt didnt had the guts to do anything about it

Exactly.

The guy was a harmless American tourist. He didn't mean any harm to them. Yet, they killed him. Savages. The guy's body hasn't been recovered yet. It is still on that island presumably.

Sentinelese also attacked a lost ship but nobody was killed thankfully.

These people shouldn't get free passes. How are they any different than random bandits? :inti

What happened was truly sad. He should have followed the law, but he didn't. The island is off limits even for Indians, and for good reasons. We have plenty of things to deal with in mainland India than providing justice to Darwin awardees.

na i wont blame them, not their fault.

Indians here like to claim things as their own but our veggie eating neighbors dont have the guts to enter and help them.

India claiming Sentinal Island is a literal example of Andhon mein kana Raja

So India cant go to an Indian land, so it even Indian land than?

It is a part of India. It is one of the islands in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a union territory of India located in the Bay of Bengal. Although it is under Indian jurisdiction, the Indian government has adopted a policy of non-interference with the Sentinelese people. This means no one is legally allowed to approach the island or attempt contact, both to protect the Sentinelese from outside diseases and to respect their clear desire for isolation. The Indian Navy and Coast Guard enforces strict restrictions on any approach to the island.

An American Youtuber tried to contact the tribespeople as recently as like a couple days ago and got arrested for that.

so its part of India but the likes of you cant go there?

So indian law applies to it and they cant even vote

ok

Should apply that philosophy to IOK as well brother.

I remember reading about this a few months ago !

They are literally a medieval people who've had little contact with the outside world, and have attacked many outsiders who even approach them.

and India just claims their land as their own territory to satisfy their own ego

Are North Sentinelese people even aware they are considered as Indians by the Indians?

:qdkcheeky

We are their silent guardian angels.

We are here to protect them from people with malicious intentions

Here is the truth and full story about this Island. And source is your favourite Dhruv Rathi :kp

Not only have we protected the last of the medieval era untouched tribes but we have from time to time sent food and other aid to their shores. They want to stay isolated and we have respected their decision. It’s the greatest story of protection
