According to the NZ website, Abdullah is the 12th man for Pakistan A, which is a bit surprising given that he just played for Pakistan.

A good opportunity for Zeeshan though.

Abdullah Shafiq not in playing XI.
Pakistani's have some weird selection preferences. One guy gets selected for National Team XI whereas doesn't get selected for A Team.
Same with Rizwan, who doesn't get selected for PSL playing XI but is first choice in National team.
Similarly, Babar is the Captain of National team but isn't suitable for Franchise team.
Imad who is not first choice in National Team nowadays is suitable for Captaincy ahead of Babar.
Is management clueless or Pakistan National Cricket team inferior to these Domestic and Franchises?

So the Shaheens win the toss and choose to bowl. I hope at least Cricinfo has ball by ball coverage. Or any other websites?

Sad treatment of Danish Aziz

No wonder it is Punjab cricket board

Following Amad and Usman very closely in this match, expecting them to do better however this is just a T20, a ODI or a 3-day game would have been so much better to gauge the talent!

By the way, in the previous game, Amad picked up bunch of wickets recently in NZ

Musa is champion.

What a player he is. Scoring 28 (12) require some skills with the ball in hands.

Usman Qadir some say parchi and some say cheap has been your best bowler so far against NZ A and if opening bowlers would have had a decent spell he would have picked up wickets too, especially considering NZ are going bonkers with just 1 wicket down:

67 runs scored of last 20 balls .. that’s some crazy stuff ..

It’s been ages we haven’t played a proper spinner in limited overs cricket.. we must try him and giving him a long run to see how he goes ..

Agree, not sure you saw the recent ZIM series, Usman was a revelation, was MoM in that series...b4 that series I never saw Usman and always thought Usman didn't have it in him but that series changed my perspective about him...moreover he is quite smart in his bowling, very important for a good spin bowler.

He did show some promise in that series .. and I just hope that he gets picked regularly in the playing 11 so that we can he can have some match practice under his belt come the next years T20 ..

yeah and moreover remember he has also lead the Pakistan Unders (16 and 19s I reckon) which is always good, ensures that the cricketer can think on his feet and can be independent on the field.

Shaheens 67 after 6 overs. Haider Ali going great guns, 43 off 22 and Zeeshan complementing him well with 22 off 14.

I think we shd hv tried him long ago ..

Pak A should chase this down that is a very weak bowling attach that ND have with no NZ players in there.

Not even gonna lie, I like the look of the Shaheens side more than the national side. Seem to have all bases covered :babar

NK 203/2 (20)
PAKA 111/1 (10.3) CRR: 10.57 REQ: 9.79
Pakistan A need 93 runs in 57 balls

What is Seifert eating now a days? Has been in great touch. :kp

The talent has always been there its good to see him finally showing some consistency. Got a red ball hundred vs Windies a few weeks ago in a warm up as well.

NK 203/2 (20)
PAKA 182/9 (20)
Northern Knights won by 21 runs

So Minnows lost to domestic B grade bowling attack

6 players of ours played in last T20 international , oh yes I'm wrist slitting.

Lol, hitting new lows all the time. This is so embarrasing.

Shocking from our much hyped pacers.

Our openers were the only positive along with Usman.

Pacers were a let down in this match. When you let any team (even an associate team) score 200+ in a T20 match then irrespective of the other team’s bowling attack, batting is under pressure straight away after couple of wickets going down.

Iftikhar lost this game single-handedly against such a weak bowling attack .

He should be dropped permanently from all tours

NZ tours are quickly becoming more and more like Australia tours lol...

Every match just looks embarrassing.

And seriously, it is mind boggling seeing Abdullah get benched. They have literally wasted his young talented domestic season. He would have been much better off playing in FC and dominating and improving on his game there. Can't expect much better from the really dumb think tank we have though.

Let’s be completely fair, this is a 180 par ground and they got smashed by Seifert who is a starter in the national team. The rest of the batsmen did okay. It says a lot if Khushdil is able to pick up a wicket and Qadir only goes for 22 in 4 overs.

On the flip side, we batted exceptionally for the first 12 overs sitting at something like 122/2 at that point, before Hussain Talat kickstarted a collapse.

Full credit to Haider and Zeeshan.

Tbf Seifert scored all the runs and he's a set NZ player.

Devich is a solid player as well and use to play for NZ.

That is some hammer for Rauf and Hasnain.

A century between them from 8 overs.
