Northern head coach Ijaz Ahmed Jnr: “Northern is rich of cricketing talent and it has produced some wonderful cricketers over the years. I am delighted to be coaching them for the upcoming season. We have been able to put together a well-balanced side for the upcoming season by keeping both red and white ball specialist players in the side. The camp of the CCA performers helped us in identification of young players in the region and it played a crucial role in helping me in having a close look at the upcoming cricketers, some of whom are selected for the 2021-22 season.”

Okay, so it looks quite a few of the Pak national players which have national contracts are not put up in these squads.

This is not the same Kashif Ali - PCB have confirmed.

Selected Kashif Ali is a pace bowler from Rawalpindi who was the highest wicket taker in the Northern cricket association and took 4 wickets in the final to lead Rawalpindi to the title.

Hamza Arshad: 26 year old highest run scorer in Northern CA with an average of 78 and SR of 83
Sarmad Hameed: 29 years old 2nd highest run scorer with an average of 86
Kashif Ali: Pacer who was the highest wicket take in the Northern CA with an avg of 10
Aaqib Liaqat: 20 year old leg spinner, 6th highest wicket taker at an average of 16 in Norther CA

A model for other domestic teams to follow instead of simply just rolling out old, mediocre & underperforming players. I don't think you want to diminish veterans because the most important thing is to keep the competition strong so youngsters have to push hard to take their spot but there isn't any point in playing players like Akmal, Ashfaq Ahmed, Azeem Ghumman, Taimur Ali etc.. These guys aren't even doing well in FC and have played in so many matches yet have pretty poor numbers in FC (Akmal is still good career wise though). Those are positions you would like to see a youngster used to see what they can do.

Huraira and Mubasir have been doing exceptionally well. Mubasir is rated highly by Powerpoint CS for quite some time.
