Interesting question. How do nurses around the world find the time during a devastating pandemic to choreograph a dance routine for tik-tok or other social media? I thought the reason why everyone else around the world are staying home to relieve the burden upon our NHS, and other countries helping their healthcare system.

How do these videos make you feel about the entire situation? Especially those who have been layed off, furloughed and have not seen their parents for over a month?

My personal view on this is, I could care less about how anyone chooses to enjoy themselves. But i find silly and disrespectful to see ‘over burdened’ nurses and doctors producing these pathetically orchestrated videos to go viral. Have fun, dance and whatever but why make it a spectacle? What’s the logic behind this?

Different people have different ways of dealing with stress. I have nurses, doctors, paramedics the whole lot in my family and extended families. You have no idea the amount of stress every single individual involved with public health is in currently. If some of them are choosing of dance their stress away then why have an issue with it?

Keep in mind these people are right at the front of the frontline. If a corona patient coughs directly on their face while they are trying to intubate him/her then even a surgical mask won't save them.

I respect that. They can all have a room with a DJ, disco ball and loudspeakers to release their stress for all I care. But what is the logic in showing the entire world that a group of nurses/doctors had nothing to do so they carefully rehearsed a dance routine to show off on TikTok?

We have been told that we are in wartime here and the nurses are at the front line. Can you imagine Indian/Pakistani soldiers rehearsing Hrithik Roshan dance moves on the border during a serious war between the two nuclear states, and then posting them online?

For me, this is worse because the entire economy of countries has been shut down for this.

Think it's more a way to spread positivity in these dark times. These dances and tik-tok are a massive worldwide social media craze, personally don't see the issue for those on the frontlines to join in and have a bit of fun spreading positivity and relieving immense stress.

I’m suppose if you have not suffered and loss of a loved on or severe financial loss due to the pandemic, you may find it amusing and positive.

But it still begs the question, where is the emergency in the hospitals? Some of these videos were not made impromptu, clearly well rehearsed with a decent amount of time. The stats show that people are dying or need to be rescued in the ICU every minute apparently. So where do they find the time to do this?

The doctors find it amusing and a way of relieving their stress. Lets not over think this. They are doing a hell of a job in trying circumstances.

The first couple of them were amusing but now they are just another stupid meme on the internet. Welcome to the age of YouTube Instagram, TikTok and Internet fame.

People still have not recieved their government promises, universal credit or business loans etc. Imagine seeing those dancing videos whilst going through this stress? Cancer patients having to wait for covid 19 to ease down, and then they see these nurses dancing a rehearsed Macarena

3rd of my friend got infected in 2 weeks.let them decrease their stress,Not an easy job it is.

Bro I don’t think you are getting the point. Do these stress relief videos need to be viral social media movies during a global pandemic?

yea that is something can be discussed.Got it now dear my apologies.personally have not even posted a pic on social media.

Anything to lift the mood is great.

The problem is governments use this as a propaganda, 'all is well' etc.

It would be nice if more doctors and nurses came out to protest the disgraceful way the government has handled this.

It's fine if you don't like it. Your right. But there was no need to compare job of healthcare workers with stress of promised bank loans. Yes people are stressed but if given a choice I'm sure no one will want to swap position with a healthcare worker.

Right now , How many of stressed people will actually prefer doing a Doctor/Nurse job over their stress ? ZERO
Healthcare is understaffed everywhere in the world. Stressed people can volunteer for healthcare if they think it's a lottery.

What a joke post. I’m sure people would be happy to swap their position of unemployment, stress and financial uncertainty with those nurses who have the time to create those well rehearsed tik-tok videos whilst getting fully paid for their service. Of course those unfortunate people who do not have the skill as these guys may not be professionally skilled to do the job, so what? These doctors and nurses can rub it in to the population by dancing around like clowns whilst we are told that hospitals are a war-zone?

I think you're making this a bigger deal than it needs to be. These are not complex professional choreographed dances that take weeks to learn, these are very famous tik tok dances being done by literally millions of people worldwide, they're all over social media, and they take about 5 or 10 minutes to learn. Now some nurses working in very stressful conditions want to partake in this massive phenomenon in their down time to relieve some stress and raise morale and suddenly it's so offensive.

And I can't understand how they are "rubbing it into the population". They are posting these vidoes on Tik Tok, so if you don't like seeing them or they offend you so much, here's an idea: delete Tik Tok. If other people are sharing it or it's in the news how is that their fault? The people that download and use Tik Tok are the people that like to see these dances, so they have recorded it and posted it for these people and also to have a bit of fun themselves. They're not choosing to make it viral, they just recorded and posted to have a bit of fun. Do you know why they became viral? It's because so many people around the world resonated with the happiness they were sharing in the video, so quite clearly it's had a significant positive impact.

No patients are being mistreated due to these videos, no one has died because their nurse was too busy making a Tik Tok instead of saving their life. I'm sure they're very sorry that they offended you, but right now they're too busy saving lives, as they are doing most of the day, yet you choose to focus on the tiny portion of the day they've recorded a 20 second dance with their colleagues to have a bit of fun. Surely you have more important things to worry about?

doctors and nurses are humans too. They have been neglected by the media so far, so good time to make use of this time when they have attention. If they can't go to discos because of their busy schedule, they have the right to dance in hospitals and share them to be consumed by the entertainment starved idle population.

Dude, you've been griping since the beginning of this whole thing with your own agenda.

In all honesty, considering they go to work every day and risk their life, they're entitled to their 10 minutes of break and not having it dictated to them how they spend their free time.

It is in no way comparable to you waiting for your government loans and benefits.

They can’t go to discos because of busy schedules??? Are you living on Pluto?

All discos/clubs and bars have been shut down! Nothing is open, they are not going to these places just like everyone else and they are putting in lengthy shifts at work which makes sense as it is a global pandemic, who else do you expect to put in those shifts? They have a right to dance, who disputed this?? But what about giving the impression that this isn’t as dramatic as they initially made this out to be??

Waiting for government loans, maybe not. waiting for cancer treatment appointments? Or anything else for that matter?

Some are fortunate enough to have the government loan schemes, but what about those who have been refused?? You are so naive to think this was a 100% rescue plan by the chancellor!

Lastly, what about the 20k people who have actually died in the hospitals since March? What about their families? How many of them are enjoying these videos??

FYI, unlike many other jobs, 90% Doctors and Nurses don't get heavy paychecks anyway.

Believe me, atm hospitals are war-zone. My hospital masks and Caps cut my nose and forehead so deep it could bruise me if I were to wear it for two hours more than routine 6 hours.

And when I come back to home, I have to go through a rigorous routine of wash ups and managing my dress etc. Still we don't know who among us is Covid +ve. Many have died after getting virus while treating patients. May be we are actually more stressed.

Having said that, not everyone in our families is a doctor or nurse. We have family members who have become jobless, have suffered financially but this doesn't mean doctors are celebrating losses of others. We are in it together. We all are losing something. We should ignore some random anomaly and shouldn't generalize.

And I don’t think I generalised for all doctors. My issue is with the few and growing number of clowns that are giving a bad impression to those who are actually risking their lives. These jokers on TikTok should not be encouraged.

My brother, 20,000 people have died in the UK. Many of these TikTok videos where made at the time when we at home were being told that the hospitals are a war zone. The peak was in the second week of April, when the UK was recording on average 900 deaths a day. Can you justify 10 minutes of videos that probably took 100 takes and 4-5 hours of rehearsal to be circulating?

This is what we British people do!
We find humour, we dance we make up songs and we lift the nation when it’s down.

Thank god our front line are involved in things like this and I’m sure evryone here agrees with me...
God help those who don’t

Bro ignore some random videos. Whatever relieve their stress. In every field there are all type of personalities. Virus has induced much stress already and we need to ignore extra stress factors. Virus stress is unavoidable but we can avoid avoidables.

They not only have the right to dance in the hospitals, but they also have the right to put it on tiktok, so that those under lockdown can get their hearts warmed by this noble gesture. Society must thank these dancing warriors for going out of the way to lift our morale even when some will never be satisfied.

I am not entertained. I am offended by this.

I am offended because people in those hospitals have died. I am offended because people have not been allowed to get appointments for important illnesses. I am offended because people are under severe stress due to not being allowed to work so that the strain and burden is reduced on these dancing nurses!

How many of these people died and how many were denied appointments because of the dancing videos on tiktok? You are taking out your outrage on the wrong target. They are only doing this to lift your morale, and not because they are attention seeking narcissists.

You are right, these clowns are not the reason people die or miss appointments. But they are not doing a good job by damaging the image of the respectable profession of Nursing/doctors. Im asking you to specifically examine the time it takes to make a collaborative effort and tell me does it coincide with the government’s narrative of Hospitals being war-zones, and the NHS staff being overburdened with work due to Covid-19? Are these dancing nurses on Social media giving the highly frustrated general public a moral boost or a sniff at tearing into the Government?

What universe are you plucking these random numbers from? :uakmal

Like I said, ask any Tik Tok user in the world and you'll understand these are 10-20 second videos that take about 10 minutes to learn. I can't understand why you are making up greatly exaggerated numbers to somehow prove that nurses dancing in their spare time makes them not respectable. I have to admit my respect for them going to work every day in a hospital during a vicious virus pandemic and saving lives there is not affected at all by some of the nurses' decision to spend an extremely tiny portion of their day recording a 10 second dance to raise some morale and have a bit of fun. If you are skeptical of the warzone-like conditions of the frontlines, there is no shortage of videos of doctors and nurses conveying the distress and challenging conditions of their jobs.

Once again, they are only viral because millions of people have found them heartwarming, so I'd say they've had a positive effect.

I can't justify the scenario you have mentioned, but I can justify the reality.

Do you think this proves your point that they are 4-5 hour of rehearsal videos? They are clearly all looking at and copying one leader and half of them aren't even doing it correctly. This is what it looks like when nurses are having a bit of fun together in their downtime, and it doesn't show a professionally choreographed dance that took hours. Did you take the time to read all the comments underneath the video? I'm not sure how you can doubt the morale-boosting effects of it.

Download Tik Tok and see for yourself how loads of videos are even shorter and simpler than that already short and simple dance.

Is it hard to let these stressed out nurses doing vital work have a bit of harmless fun together? In no way is it being shoved down anyone's throat, so if you don't like it, just don't spend 20 seconds of your day watching it.

Have a nice day.

You are trying too hard to justify this. The video I shared has possibly 50-80 NHS/Healthcare staff on break or whatever. 500+ people die every day and thousands are in intensive care or are in care. How does such a large group of nurses/doctors find time off in such difficult times?

“Doctors have postponed more than 2m operations after non-emergency surgery was cancelled for at least three months to free up beds for coronavirus patients.

The mounting backlog of procedures could cost the NHS £3bn to work through and may require many of the 20,000 doctors and nurses who have returned to the health service to stay on once the Covid-19 crisis has been brought under control.

According to NHS England, postponing the planned operations, which typically cost £1bn per month, has released 12,000 beds for patients who have fallen ill after contracting the virus.”

See you’re a true Brit too... trying to keep everyone smiling and laughing!!! Well done

I’m guessing that the dancing nhs jokers are the ones who have never actually seen the frontline, but are happy to don the PPE and use the equipment to milk the situation for some likes and publicity on Tik Tok. Maybe they are from amongst the extras who returned or have recently been recruited through last year medical studies.

Requesting senior doctors and medical staff to pass their views if they are reading this. I sincerely hope a serious doctor who has seen death up front can commend this unprofessional behaviour
