Nurses/Doctors choreographed dance videos during pandemic - heart warming or disrespectful?

Interesting question. How do nurses around the world find the time during a devastating pandemic to choreograph a dance routine for tik-tok or other social media? I thought the reason why everyone else around the world are staying home to relieve the burden upon our NHS, and other countries helping their healthcare system.

How do these videos make you feel about the entire situation? Especially those who have been layed off, furloughed and have not seen their parents for over a month?

My personal view on this is, I could care less about how anyone chooses to enjoy themselves. But i find silly and disrespectful to see ‘over burdened’ nurses and doctors producing these pathetically orchestrated videos to go viral. Have fun, dance and whatever but why make it a spectacle? What’s the logic behind this?

I respect that. They can all have a room with a DJ, disco ball and loudspeakers to release their stress for all I care. But what is the logic in showing the entire world that a group of nurses/doctors had nothing to do so they carefully rehearsed a dance routine to show off on TikTok?

We have been told that we are in wartime here and the nurses are at the front line. Can you imagine Indian/Pakistani soldiers rehearsing Hrithik Roshan dance moves on the border during a serious war between the two nuclear states, and then posting them online?

For me, this is worse because the entire economy of countries has been shut down for this.

I’m sure people would be happy to swap their position of unemployment, stress and financial uncertainty with those nurses who have the time to create those well rehearsed tik-tok videos whilst getting fully paid for their service. I think you're making this a bigger deal than it needs to be. These are not complex professional choreographed dances that take weeks to learn, these are very famous tik tok dances being done by literally millions of people worldwide, they're all over social media, and they take about 5 or 10 minutes to learn. Now some nurses working in very stressful conditions want to partake in this massive phenomenon in their down time to relieve some stress and raise morale and suddenly it's so offensive.

And I can't understand how they are "rubbing it into the population". They are posting these vidoes on Tik Tok, so if you don't like seeing them or they offend you so much, here's an idea: delete Tik Tok. If other people are sharing it or it's in the news how is that their fault? The people that download and use Tik Tok are the people that like to see these dances, so they have recorded it and posted it for these people and also to have a bit of fun themselves. They're not choosing to make it viral, they just recorded and posted to have a bit of fun. Do you know why they became viral? It's because so many people around the world resonated with the happiness they were sharing in the video, so quite clearly it's had a significant positive impact.

No patients are being mistreated due to these videos, no one has died because their nurse was too busy making a Tik Tok instead of saving their life. I'm sure they're very sorry that they offended you, but right now they're too busy saving lives, as they are doing most of the day, yet you choose to focus on the tiny portion of the day they've recorded a 20 second dance with their colleagues to have a bit of fun. Waiting for government loans, maybe not. waiting for cancer treatment appointments? Or anything else for that matter?

FYI, unlike many other jobs, 90% Doctors and Nurses don't get heavy paychecks anyway.

And when I come back to home, I have to go through a rigorous routine of wash ups and managing my dress etc. Still we don't know who among us is Covid +ve. Many have died after getting virus while treating patients. May be we are actually more stressed.

We have family members who have become jobless, have suffered financially but this doesn't mean doctors are celebrating losses of others. We are in it together. We all are losing something. You are right, these clowns are not the reason people die or miss appointments. But they are not doing a good job by damaging the image of the respectable profession of Nursing/doctors. What universe are you plucking these random numbers from?

Like I said, ask any Tik Tok user in the world and you'll understand these are 10-20 second videos that take about 10 minutes to learn. I can't understand why you are making up greatly exaggerated numbers to somehow prove that nurses dancing in their spare time makes them not respectable. I have to admit my respect for them going to work every day in a hospital during a vicious virus pandemic and saving lives there is not affected at all by some of the nurses' decision to spend an extremely tiny portion of their day recording a 10 second dance to raise some morale and have a bit of fun. If you are skeptical of the warzone-like conditions of the frontlines, there is no shortage of videos of doctors and nurses conveying the distress and challenging conditions of their jobs.

Once again, they are only viral because millions of people have found them heartwarming, so I'd say they've had a positive effect.

You are trying too hard to justify this. The video I shared has possibly 50-80 NHS/Healthcare staff on break or whatever. 500+ people die every day and thousands are in intensive care or are in care. How does such a large group of nurses/doctors find time off in such difficult times?

I’m guessing that the dancing nhs jokers are the ones who have never actually seen the frontline, but are happy to don the PPE and use the equipment to milk the situation for some likes and publicity on Tik Tok. Maybe they are from amongst the extras who returned or have recently been recruited through last year medical studies.

Requesting senior doctors and medical staff to pass their views if they are reading this. I sincerely hope a serious doctor who has seen death up front can commend this unprofessional behaviour
