Offies are rare in Pak nowadays and this one seems to be the deal who recently debuted this year in FC and LA cricket in Pak for Karachi Whites. Has a 6 fer in both FC and LA matches already.

A 25 year old. One reason for me supporting this guy is because he is my namesake

I've mentioned him in a few of the match threads. His dad is a certain Tauseef Ahmed. He's a bit of a puzzle. Has a very round arm action and is pretty short but gets decent turn and dip.

He has actually bowled very economically in List A but the pitches he has played on in that format have been spin-friendly, whislt his 6-fer in FC was on a complete road (he bowled 56 overs in that innings!)
Looking at the scorecards, one thing he knows how to do is bowl long spells.

Coming to the topic of offspinners, competition is hotting up this season so they aren't a rarity anymore. Just needed to produce decent pitches.

Gets a lot of hate, however if you look at his first class record so far not too bad for a spinner playing mostly on flat or pace friendly pitches in Pakistan.

Not having a great season so far. Playing for the Sindh 1st XI and he picked up 2/174 in his sole FC appearance till now. And 0/49 today in 3 overs in the National T20 Cup.

Tauseef Ahmed, meanwhile, is the manager and Head Coach of the Sindh 2nd XIs.

While I have no issues with a player having a relationship with ex player or someone in management if he os good enough. Now when that is aside, Waleed Ahmed looked pretty ordinary to me as he didnt show any spin, drift or a loop good enough to regularly trouble the batsmen even at domestic level.

He needs to work really hard.

In the video, the 4th wicket where he flighted the ball right up and received a dolly return catch. It makes me wonder about the standard of cricket these guys are playing as FC cricketers.
