I'm assuming you are talking about the recent times, last 15 years or so?

Ashwin isn't greater than Imran or Kapil Dev, is he?

Most wickets by Test players who have also scored 5+ centuries

434 - Kapil Dev (8 100s)

392 - R Ashwin (5 100s)

383 - Sir Ian Botham (14 100s)

362 - Imran Khan (6 100s)

362 - Daniel Vettori (6 100s)

292 - Jacques Kallis (45 100s)

235 - Sir Garry Sobers (26 100s)

I doubt the sanity of those who think Ash vs Yasir is still relevant. In terms of bowling, batting, match awareness and cricketing intelligence Ashwin is so far ahead that it is not even a comparison.
Agree with this. Yasir is good. However Ashwin is on another planet and only an extremely biased soul will put him anywhere near Ashwin.

In Pakistan it’s called Josh-e-Khitabat :sharif

If you factor in leadership and captaincy, then yes you can still consider Imran and Kapil better.

But Ashwin is already a better bowler than Kapil and I think after this ATG knock today, he has matched Imran as an all-rounder because he was already equal to him as a bowler.

Considering the fact that he still has 3-4 years, it is fair to say that he is the GOAT Asian Test all-rounder.

Ashwin is also one of the best captains India never had. He is extremely intelligent and his tactical awareness is top notch.

Ashwin is greater than Kapil Dev as a test cricketer. On an overall level, Kapil Dev is better.

Ashwin as a test cricketer is Shaun Pollock level. ATG with bowl and a gritty no.7-8 batsman.

Ash has come a long way kudos to him, its all about improvement talented toh Piyush bhi tha.

There was another hundred by Ashwin where he batted at no.6 in West Indies with the bowl moving around and Gabriel and Joseph in particular looked quite lethal. This was the game, he scored a brilliant 116, and he was supported by Saha who got a hundred too.

India were 4 down for 85 and he took us to 340+ with a brilliant batting performance.

Pitches in India are tailor made for spinners.Pakistan pitches have low bounce and are slow but spinners don't get the same purchase.India used to play three or four spinners before they started producing fast bowers.

Right, posters who voted Yasir are either trolling or being biased because one has to be hopelessly dimwitted to actually believe Yasir is better, I refuse to belive that anyone can be that idiotic.

I can listen to Ashwin talk all day long about Cricket. How intelligent, smart, tactical, articulate, analytical and soothing to the ear. He's an absolute genius. He has a logical answer for everything the interviewer throws at him. Very few cricketers can think like Ashwin in modern-day cricket. I'm blessed to witness this legendary cricketer grow in stature. He's sure gonna do wonders for India post his retirement, too.

Him being a qualified engineer has also aided in him being analytical and intelligent.

See the post above yours. Now the pitches are blamed for Yasir being a lesser cricketer than Ashwin!

He is not only the Asia's GOAT allrounder, he is the world's GOAT allrounder, why degrade him ?
