Congrats Pakistan for beating India for the first time in KO games of ICC tournament after Ages.

We did something better. We pounded you in a final. Pounded you so hard that it was the defeat of the highest margin in cricketing history. Not just another knockout.

A day I will never forget.

To be at The Oval and witness such a performance from the Pakistan team was special.

I wasn't very optimistic given what had happened earlier in the tournament between the 2 teams, but this was an incredible performance from a pumped-up Pakistan team.

I remember it was Ramzan and leading up to this game I used to make Khususi dua for the success of The Pakistan Team. The result was just incredible! :D

Same here :')

Followed Pakistan cricket since 2003 and after witnessing all the horror stuff that we went through this was a much needed thing

The longest ongoing celebration ever 😄😄😄
This celebration will carry on till next year when Indians end up losing the one bragging right they have over Pakistan. Although I would prefer to meet you once more in a KO, but I'm fairly certain India will be knocked out in the group stages itself

That victory was one of the best day of my life i wish i have a time watch so i can go back and celebrate the moment again .

I don.t know why indians are getting salty we would celebrate in what ever way we want none of their business

Incredible scenes. We can only imagine what the same people would have done if India had won. What a great day for Pakistan cricket! What a great tournament for Pakistan cricket!

We now know for sure that the likes of Fakhar, Shadab, Hasan ali, Faheem, Amir are here to stay and serve Pakistan cricket for a long long time.15 years from now when we look back in history, we will remember this tournament to be the one which made them.

May your wish come true!!! One day or another, streak will be broken, that's how sports work. We need strong India and Pak for cricket.

Lol if mainstream India media can celebrate a T20 win for a decade. Then surely it shouldn't be a big deal if Pakistan fans celebrate after only a year.

I think Pakistan will celebrate it for next 50 years, given how rare the occasion is. :yk

And in KO ICC games Many - 1 in India's favour. You can have bragging rights for champions trophy.

here :pakflag2

It is thread about champions trophy so what should we discuss ?should i also bring head to head pakistan record against india ?

sure. the form India has been in last couple of years, wish India played more frequently to Pakistan to close that record once in for a all too. :23:

Something similar was try by srinavasan in 2013 but after pakistan defeated india in odi series even before the 3rd odi he announce their will be no more cricket with pakistan .guess you want another trashing.

Pakistan will have plenty of opportunity in upcoming WC. Bring the fire.

It's funny that Indians have a problem with Pakistanis celebrating a win... Talk about being salty :yk

It's really difficult to get over some defeats. This defeat definitely has hurt me, in fact I'm still not over it. But nothing compares to the pain I have gone through all these years due to our defeat in the Chennai Test back in 1999. It's been 19 years and yet it hurts me just as much as it did back then.
Likewise, I still haven't really got over the 2007 T20 defeat to India.
Unlike our 2017 'one sided' victory, the 2007 T20 final was a Match that we were odds on to win until....Misbah gifted you the Trophy. It still hurts to be honest.

One of the greatest days in Pakistan cricket.

Will remain etched for decades!

I am still split between 1992 WC and CT17 - Naaah just kidding, it's easy, CT17! The look on England's face and reaction in 1992 was one thing, but the look and reaction from India and its fans, oh my - stellar level!

:)

Perfect Revenge of the 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship of Cricket Finals loss.

Naaah, that 1985 final was avenged in 1986 Sharjah Final, Miandad's last ball 6, still causing nightmares in India. How is Cheema these days I wonder? Hmmmm.

Seems like a lifetime away considering the current malaise of the team...

This has aged into vinegar.

Year 2030: Sarfaraz the PM gives pep talk to PCT before leaving for world cup. Reminds them of the CT 13 years ago and explains how jazba plays a huge role in any success.

Oh dear. :)))

Very interesting comment from the day of...why do our players need to be pumped to deliver their best?It really has been the trend over the last decade..we're only capable of winning when pumped-up. A lot to ponder upon as a nation and population.

The last time I worn a Pakistan jersey while watching the match.

Didn’t care about India - Pak games after a while after that. Didn’t watch the Asia cup games and not even the WC game aside from the scorecard.

That final had a lot of build up and was a final that turned out to be a classic. The losses later just seemed to *happen* even the WC game had no atmosphere, just a groupie game... we didn’t even play our best guy.

Well he's busy running the country from the PMO. He can't do everything, you know? 😜

Until the 2020 T20WC comes around, that is.

I hope this time the two teams play a KO. After 2007 India and Pakistan haven't played a KO match in any WC tournament. Will be interesting to see how the #1 T20 team copes with the pressure of playing a KO with India.
Played in 2011 QF and India knocked out Pakistan.

What a day.

Hopefully we will again see a day like this in the future.

2 years is a long time! isn't it?
nevertheless an unforgetable day.. except mohali SF would not exchange any result vs Ind to overturn it
Can't forget the indian trolls before the Final and their reactions after it.
Anyways this maywell be our last icc trophy for 2 to 3 decades looking at the mess we are

Belated congratulations to Pakistani fans on this CT17 win.

As for India, this defeat turned out to be a big blessing in disguise. This defeat caused them to make wholesale changes in Indian ODI team. The bowling attack was overhauled. The result is for everyone to see. The Indian team today is a far stronger and well rounded team, thanks to that defeat.

I don't mean to spoil the celebration but that was Pak's first step towards minnowland.
Ronaldo7 congrats on the win.

Failure accepted.. This brought huge changes to team.

Will admit I'm still not over that loss. It's perfectly justified Pak fans will celebrate this victory for a long time.

Indeed some loses don't go away. Mohali 2011 and Australia 1999 final are the most haunting defeat for me as a Pakistani.

Then there are defeats like first T20 WC final which India won by 4 runs, those defeat are joyful defeats. No hard feelings as team tried till the end and it was helluva game!

Don't worry Pakistani fans, once our team makes it to the semi in this WC, we will beat India in the same fashion :inzi2

No harm in being optimistic until it's really over for Pakistan.

Congratulations to Pakistan on their spectacular win.:sarf

Sarfaraz truly is the best captain since Imran Khan.

The infamous Chennai Test in 99’ has haunted me all my life, and will continue to do so till the day I’m alive.

Perhaps because this was a rare occasion?
The FIRST time ever in the long history both nations finally faced off in an ICC tournament finalm it was a HUGE game.

You sure about that..? 1985 benson hedges final forgotten?

You sure about that..? 1985 benson hedges final forgotten?

Doesn't count. Neither does WC'07. And from now on only when both India and Pakistan reach a CT finals together will this occasion arise. And seeing Pakistan's current situation and future outlook the probability of this event occurring seems very less. So its a rare occasion. :yk

Was not an ICC event, but even if we grant you 1985 as a solace final, do not forget 1986 Sharjah final, after all, this is about Pakistan and India in a final, in any final!

Do you remember that Miandad 6? I bet you do not, and neither the 1985 final.

But carry on . . . .

World T20 2007 was a close affair, last over and India won by 5 runs, so while a win for India, Pakistan went from runner up, to winner in the next edition.

CT17 on the other hand, a complete drubbing of the #1 ODI team by #7 ODI team at the time, in a superior format of the game. Fans did not walk out of WT20 07 as they did in CT17, and India can never avenge the defeat in the same comp. Of course the shockwaves sent through India that day can still be felt today, and no doubt in years to come.

Chill! Its a game of cricket. There were no shockwaves. The Indian team needed to introspect and we came up with KulCha.
