What's new

On This Day: May 28, 1974 - Misbah-ul-Haq was born

I still feel that he rescued and stabilised Pakistan cricket when it was on its knees and heading towards a fark place. What he did at that time should never be underestimated.

Pakistan Cricket is not in a dark place now? If he was such an excellent captain, why can't he be a good coach then?

Easy for someone like you sitting on their couch at home to criticize Misbah. Arm chair experts are so annoying.

Misbah is so criminally underrated as a Test captain.

To lead a team which was probably at it’s all-time low to glory is a wonderful feat.

Won’t forget how Pakistan whitewashed England during his captaincy tenure.

Can u plz find out
What was his career average and strike rate till the beginning of 2009 ?

He was a breath of fresh air after the world cup
The euphoria soon died out

His batting strategy seems to rely on babar and sohail
Bowling he has plenty of options

Think back to 2010 and where Pakistan cricket was and what it was viewed as by so many people, then you will realise how valuable his contribution was.

He was a wartime leader. When things were going bad he needed to be there at the center. Now when everything is peaceful and well he would be ignored.

But when things go south again, the person they all will be going to would be Misbah Ul Haq

The day he was born was the Darkest day in the history of Pakistan cricket.
He destroyed so many careers. He lost so many matches.
He should be known as destroyer of Pakistan cricket.

That 2011 semi final still hurts so much. He should never be forgiven for the most embarrassing performance of any player in a world cup Match.

Precisely this.

I thought the scars are over for most of the Pak fans after your CT victory in 2017.
