He bats according to the situation. If the top order flops, then we have to tuk tuk to a reasonable score. You saw similar results from Misbah and the lower order during the Hafeez blitz against SL in 2013

Misbah was an extremely talented batsman. Can't say about fearlessness but he was talented, Had big shots, Nerves of steel and above all confidence in his abilities. Temperament and cool head both are gifted abilities. His only constraint was/is the lack of strike rotation.

it really boggles my mind to just imagine that he averaged 50+ at a strike rate of 90 in those days whereas the norm in those days was the low 70's.

Cant imagine what it would be like with field restriction, bigger bats, free hits and whatnot in the modern game

I think he does not have confidence on himself of hitting big shots & he just simply don't want to give away his wicket .... and any spinner having brain would have bowled short of length after hitting for 3 sixes because he does not come down the track ... in this innings he simply didn't care even after drop chance ....

that being said I think he may be good at the pinch hitter or at 3 position (when wicket falls under 50 runs)
