I came across an article in my Google feed which was an interview of Ajinkye Rahane. I was left impressed by one quote right there in the headlines "When Virat left after the Adelaide match, my aim was similar to his — to do well for my country and to get the best out of every player. We both are really close and really good friends… I am happy to take a back-seat in the England series and continue". He is not merely saying it but he means it too. And he is a phenominal cricketer but honestly has been treated a bit unfairly in limited overs cricket. Winning a series in Aus after 36 AO is a remarkable feat but hasn't gone to his head. These comments show pillars of integrity have been embedded in Indian cricket over the years. There is proper succession plans as shown by Dhoni to Kohli and genuine respect of each other.

Its saddening that such values are never emphasised in our cricket system. Our past legends used to bicker constantly and captaincy used to start wars. Scheming, favoritism is still part and parcel of our cricket something India has been able to get rid of to great extent. Throwing tantrums over non-selections that we are seeing with M. Amir and Hafeez is something which will never be tolerated in top cricket nations :mw1. We should look at how Eng dealt with KP or India with Srisanth.
In this regard I want PCB to implement the following:
  1. Implement an honour code to be followed at grassroot level and U13 level
  2. Proper seperation of powers between coach, captain and selectors
  3. Blacklisting journalists by PCB and fans who encourage fissures from conferences to send a message
  4. Employ loud mouth cricketers and give them full authority to come up with results
  5. Any sort of directful behaviour despite seniority should be dealt strickly
  6. Proper greviance redressal and communication with no "washing dirty laundry in public".
All this should complement our new cricket structure. We all want to see a great PCT but not like with infighting of 90's :sendoff.
Request my fellow PP posters to contribute for more suggestions.

i had said this in other thread as well.
Imran, Miandad, Mushtaq Mohammad these guys were men of exceptional integrity.
India had Sunil, Kapil etc.
After that, in the 90s..and 2000s after the sordid match fixing saga, India were incredibly lucky to have Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly, Srinath, Kumble, Laxman.. exceptional men of high skill and integrity. They took along youngsters like yuvraj, harbhajan, sehwag and in future Kohli, Rahane etc were groomed.
Pakistan on the other hand had Wasim, Waqar... who constantly divided the team into groups and just wanted to be the captain, and tried to bring each other down. Then Shoaib, a Diva who was a narcissist and never really cared about the team.

But, I see the current crop of Pakistan cricketers, like Babar, Rizwan.. I think they are different.
Hopefully PCB can inculcate this from ground up in the structure.
Our youngsters and learning from Dravid, you need to find a similar figure in PK cricket.

I think you are confusing the integrity of the team with the integrity of the people running Pakistan cricket.

The way I see it, our boys are top blokes. They are not cheats, they play the game with a great spirit, you don't see them indulging in sledging or anything like that. You routinely see them congratulate opposition players if they have batted well. What else qualifies as integrity according to you?

I think Misbah deserves alot of credit for repairing the image of Pakistan cricket post 2010. And I do believe he instilled values of integrity in the boys during his time as captain.

The question of integrity comes around when you start bringing back match-fixers. In hindsight, bringing back Amir was a mistake. And this is one of the reasons why I don't like the idea of Sharjeel coming back either.

But I definitely agree that the PCB needs to re-examine its policies. All the things you listed deserve consideration. As does this policy of bringing back fixers. In my opinion, there should be a zero-tolerance policy because once you bring back players you normalise these corrupt practices.

Although I don't agree with the blacklisting journalists part. It smacks of censorship and if you ask me the people doing the most damage to our players' morale are ex-players who think it is their birthright to criticize each and everything about Pakistan cricket.

Focusing on the last para
Yep since Misbah the team has totally changed their is integrity and "team" culture unlike from our yester years

But sometimes when I see 90s players criticizing the team for thier non "daleri" or other SA buzzwords

I feel like deep down they're looking for a a***** brutal/selfish cricketers and fortunately Pak cricket.isnt following that philosophy anymore

I think if we continued to keep up with that non-integerity philosophy our team would be in tatters (due to our limited quality coming in the pipeline)
