Only one of Hussain Talat or Faheem Ashraf should play as an all-rounder — make room for Salman Mirza in the playing XI

Against better teams (like India), Pakistan has no other option than going with 4 regular bowlers. Thus, the team in this Asia cup should be:

1. Farhan
2. Fakhar
3. Saim (or Hassan Nawaz as both of them are out of form)
4. Talat
5. Agha
6. Muhammad Nawaz
7. Muhammad Haris
8. Shaheen
9. Haris Rauf
10. Abrar
11. Mirza

Faheem Rana and Talat, both are not good enough as the 4th (or even as the 5th bowling option). They fit only as the 6th bowling option.

Salman Mirza can be a match winner on his own on some days.

Yes, that will make our batting weaker. But we have no other choice. Moreover, we should start considering Shaheen as half good hitter at the end (a role which is played by Faheem Rana at the moment).

Guys let’s not get carried away with Talat’s bowling today
exactly, Faheem has been decent so far, you dont want Talat as a 3rd pacer, better teams, and better conditions will take him to the cleaners, as a batsman I think he is fine, hopefully this innings can give him some confidence

Talat can bowl 1-2 overs at max, that too on slowish sluggish pitches. He is mainly a batsman, not an all rounder. He won't be in the team much, just as a horses for courses selection.

Talat is good at what he did today. This type of situations are tailor made for him. Don’t expect anything more than that.

Talat is not a T20 player. If Pak reaches the final, playing him will be a huge gamble. He is too much tuk tuk.

So now you have 2 batsmen playing with some confidence and you want to remove one?
I would not do it. No matter who you bring, Pakistan problem is in the head, not skills. Saim and captain have been struggling the most as a batsman. Saim can be good as a bowler in Dubai and captain can't sit out.

If it wasn't for Nawaz, talat was on his way losing us this game. He makes shoaib Malik look great while facing pace. For a guy of his stature he can't clear the boundary and his timing is awful.

If not for Talat, we’d have lost anyway. Once again, Hussain Talat—just like S. Farhan—proves that domestic performers, even if they don’t look glamorous, are far more bankable than the so-called “eye-pleasing” youngsters who’ve delivered nothing for Pakistan.

Selections should be 80% data-driven, and today was another reminder why.

Mirza over Faheem does make sense ... Faheem is not good enough as a bowler never has been ... Talat is the better batsman although Faheem is the better basher however, he's a #8 vs Talat being #5 ...

Talat despite today's performance is a misfit in this format still ... He's an ODI/test batsman always has been yet he has barely played in those two formats

You're not wrong about domestic performers part ... just that the right players should play in correct formats ... we keep fumbling guys because of misuse

Hasan has gone from winning games to be being benched and his spot from the top order yanked for absolutely no reason ... He's basically going Umar Akmal way in how he's been set up to fail after initial success ... This madness has to stop

Yes scoring 32 off 30 balls while chasing 130 odd in a t20 is very hard and only top domestic players can play such knocks.

Talat is a very limited batsmen but since you have limited knowledge about batting hence can be excused.

Hasan Nawaz is a must if Pakistan has any chance of beating India. No question about it. You need 2-3 pinch hitters at the top (Fakhar, Saim & Farhan) and 2 genuine pinch hitters towards the end (Hasan & Harris). Shaheen can also slog it out if fate dictates.

Sometimes simplicity brings clarity. The truth is, youngsters without domestic grounding aren’t even doing the basics in pressure games. Talat and Farhan aren’t world-beaters, but between them they’ve scored 15–20k runs — they know their limits and still find ways to contribute. Most of our flashy prospects can’t even construct a calm 30-ball 32 when it really matters, despite all the talent in the world. This is something you should note too.

His domestic T20 strike rate of 118 in 200 matches is all I need to know. I am not convinced this lad should be any where near the T20 squad.

But you are convinced Babar and Rizwan should be in the team at all costs? 🤡

I think Faheem should play over Talat. Faheem is a better hitter and a better bowler also.

Also, H Nawaz should be back.

I will drop Saim Ayub to make place for Hassan Nawaz

Saim Ayub is just as useless in cricket as I am lol

And as u know how good I am in predictions so mark my word Bangladseh and India will play the Final of the Asia Cup 2025

That's another good option.

Saim is horribly out of form.

Talat did well today. Fahim has played a few decent cameos lately but his bowling isn't trustworthy. Saim has been disappointing with the bat. Hasan Nawaz is being tested by spin. Fakhar isn't timing it well. Agha is batting like a club batter.
Apart from Farhan and Nawaz, every one seems to be out of form. There's too many issues to be fixed.

Saim has had enough chances now. Time to leave him out for Hasan next game... Bangladesh game could be a game where Hasan rises again..

Talats batting won’t be of any help against bigger teams while chasing 160+.

Pakistan needs to back Hassan Nawaz.

Rauf has been dismal, replace him with Salman Mirza or Mohd Waseem(if he is in the squad).

Saim can be dropped too, Haris should play at 3 instead of him.

Salman the captain agha should bat at 9 after shaheen. He is the most useless player in the team.

Who are these youngsters you are talking about? The team is full of Ttf's. If you watched his innings there was no calm, in fact he was very lucky as he got away with ugly swipes.

The best joke I’ve heard today is “Babar and Rizwan are better power hitters than Talat” :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

The RizBar fandom say: “Babar on one leg is better than the entire squad”

I say: “Talat’s left tashreef cheek has more power than Babar and Rizwan put together” :ROFLMAO:

Abbas Afridi needs to be in playing 11

He has 38 wickets in 24 Games . Thats good by even ODI standards. He will give you 4 overs which Faheem fails to provide if opposition lays into him if track does nt suit his style. I would play afridi over Faheem all day..and we wont have to get overs out of Saim

No, Faheem is a pace bowling A/R who plays down the order (like Pandya), whilst Talat is a middle order batsman and he can bowl handy medium pace (like Stoinis)

It's basically between Salman Agha and Talat, but with Saim Ayub in such poor form - you can bring in someone like Hassan Nawaz for Saim

Salman Agha really has disappointed with the bat, but his captaincy has been spot on and he didn't let SL get away with 5 wkts down (like last time it happened) or let Ind chase down the total comfortably and ensuring the nrr stays healthy
