He's got it all. Pace, swing and bounce.

He has been brilliant in this year's CPL: bowled well to the likes of Gayle and Amla and has taken the wickets of Evan Lewis, Warner, Shai Hope, Guptill, Bravo and McCullum amongst others.

If Stuart Law has any sense he will get him into the national set up sooner rather than later.

With a bit of work on his control etc, Thomas has what it takes to be a star.

Don't mess it up Windies...

Current selection criteria for WI says you need at least 2 years consistent performances to get in the team (according to chairman of selectors).

Has he been around that long?

What a first over.

Getting amazing carry through to the keeper. Built like a tank.

Was excited when I saw his name on the team sheet and looks like he is doing well.

West Indies cricket continues to churn out exciting prospects.

Big unit operating in the high 140s and getting a lot of bounce - though he mustn't overuse the short ball tactic. Really hope he avoids injuries and maximises his potential.

What a sight!

Giant of a man. Lovely high arm action and that pace! Very very special talent. Not the one you see too often. A sheer freak of a talent like him emerges once in a decade or so. Hope he will serve West Indies for a long long time.

India must be vigilant of this West Indian side. They don't have the experience and star names yet but some of their youngsters are freakishly talented.

Heytmyer and now Thomas.

Got pummelled by Kohli but WI need to persist with him. He’s raw but has a lot of pace & potential. I’d like to see him in tests

It's ok. He came across 2 very good batsmen in their backyard.

Nonetheless he's a great talent. Might still make a come back in this match with his second spell. Don;t write him off yet.

What an exciting prospect. Bowling to 3 of the very best batsmen in ODIs currently. Needs to work on his line a bit and he will go onto have a long career.

West Indies need to go back to their pacier bouncier pitches of 80s and 90s (they did vs BD in the 1st test). With so many young out and out pacers, they will thrash a lot of teams.

They can't remake those pitches.

#1 it may not even be possible- it's not like they ever CHOSE to move to pitches completed unsuited to their playing style. The pitches jut got old and dead. It's very hard to revive a pitch of dying bounce (witness the slow death of the WACA as GABBA overtook it as our bounciest wicket).

#2 They don't have the funds/facilities to renovate and recultivate all their pitches. Where does the money come from, the soil, the equipment, the expertise. It's a huge task. They also need spare grounds to play even domestic top level cricket on in the meantime.

Reminds me of sohail khan With that action. Also huffing and puffing in 2nd & 3rd spell.

He is throwing thunderbolts tonight and is on fire. The best sight in world cricket right now aftwr KL Rahul going berserk is watching Oshane Thomas bowl and right now Oshane Thomas is bolwing to KL Rahul! This is nuts!

Swing at that pace is just lethal. Dhawan was clueless and probably didn't even see the ball coming. Serious fitness issues and accuracy errors will be his bane though.

He looks too big to sustain this though. He's a giant of a man too.

He is young , strong & pacy . Would be fantastic if he has a good bowling coach & a Team coach who do NOT use him as a mule in all formats .

Recently, looks like his been compromising on his pace for accuracy. Highest speed was 90mph in this game but he was very accurate.

West Indies fast bowler Oshane Thomas is resting at home after being involved in a car accident on Sunday. Thomas was driving an Audi which overturned after crashing with another car in Jamaica.

He was immediately rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital for treatment and released after few scans. The 23-year-old cricketer’s agent Mark Neita confirmed that the bowler has escaped serious injuries.

The West Indies Players’ Association released a statement hoping for a speedy recovery. “The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) extends best wishes to West Indies and Jamaica fast-bowler Oshane Thomas who was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, February 16 in Jamaica. WIPA’s executive and staff would like to extend our sympathies to Oshane. We wish for him a speedy and full recovery,” WIPA said in the release.

The accident occurred on Highway 2000 near Old Harbour in St. Catherine and Thomas was alone in his vehicle. The condition of the other driver is unknown and he was taken to University Hospital.

Thomas, who turned 23 on Tuesday, has played 20 ODIs and 10 T20Is so far for West Indies since making his international debut in October 2018. He last played for West Indies last month in an ODI against Ireland.

He wasn’t picked in the West Indies ODI squad for the limited-overs tour of Sri Lanka that gets underway from February 22.

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the three-match Test series against England, West Indies pacer Oshane Thomas has said that the experience of staying in a bio-secure bubble has not been bad.

All international cricket has been suspended since March this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, the series between England and West Indies will mark the return of international cricket.

The West Indies squad will live, train and play in a 'bio-secure' environment in England during the seven weeks of the tour, as part of the comprehensive medical and operations plans to ensure player and staff safety. The bio-secure protocols will also restrict movement in and out of the venues.

In an interaction with ANI from Manchester, the Windies pacer said that the experience of being in a bio-secure bubble has not been bad. He also credited the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket West Indies (CWI) for looking after the safety of players.

"Well, in terms of how long things will be like this, we really have to wait and see. The experience hasn't been bad. The ECB and CWI have done all in their power to ensure that we are comfortable. A lot of free time is spent in the games room playing dominoes," Thomas told ANI.

When asked about the saliva ban, Thomas replied: "Currently, sweat is the option that we have and honestly, it is not working out too badly. I am not thinking too far into the future on this."

The 23-year-old pacer also said that the West Indies lineup was well equipped to deal with the changes introduced by the ICC.

"I don't think falling back into that habit (using saliva) has been an issue within the team and certainly not for myself. We were well prepared by Cricket West Indies (CWI) prior to coming over and the changes have been practiced from day one," Thomas said.

Recently, Windies great Andy Roberts said that Oshane Thomas would be his first pick if he was to select seamers for the Test side against England.

Thomas said that receiving a compliment from Roberts is huge and now he has to make sure to keep improving by the minute.

"Any positive compliment coming from such a legend of West Indies and world cricket is huge. I just have to stay focused, improve on my fitness, and make sure I live up to that," Thomas said.

"Well, I have been working hard at it (improving fitness). This camp is a perfect opportunity for me to judge myself and to improve. So I must say thanks to CWI for the opportunity. Once I improve my fitness, I will be able to bowl faster for longer spells; that will really assist my game," he added.

The England-Windies Test series will be held at Hampshire's Ageas Bowl and Lancashire's Emirates Old Trafford, which have been chosen as bio-secure venues.

The proposed dates for three Tests are:First Test: July 8-12 at Ageas BowlSecond Test: July 16-20 at Emirates Old TraffordThird Test: July 24-28 at Emirates Old Trafford

The ICC has also confirmed interim changes to its playing regulations, including the ban of saliva to shine the ball and allowing replacement of players displaying symptoms of COVID-19 during a Test match.

chemar holder is a lot more promising. oshane seems like a pyjama cricket player

Looks too bulky and has regressed. His pace also seems down since his debut.

Jayden Seales should've picked ahead of him on this tour.

Legendary bowler.

Oshane Thomas, who conceded 15 runs off a single legal delivery in the BPL 2024, has once again conceded 22 runs off one ball in the CPL 2025.
