Overrated Youngsters in Pakistan Cricket

I disagree, the system is fine. Its the badniyat corrupt nature of the individuals and actors involved i.e. the players, coaches and administrators. The players bear the brunt of the blame because they have been given eternal chances for the last 7-8 years whereas coaches, selectors, administrators have come and gone. These players ultimately have the bat, ball in hand and they will only get out of the game what they put in. Its no secret that our players have stagnated because of their complacency and lack of competition for their spots in the team.
But these coaches etc are part of the system. You can't claim the system is fine when it's major component are not.

So these overrated tullas have been exposed again.
Nothing can change our fate until we select proper players who have performed in domestics.

They were never rated to begin with because they didn’t even perform in domestic cricket.

They were just selected.

Mentally he is very thin and he overthinks and tries to not lose his wicket at the start of his innings and in the process he gets out to simple straight deliveries , he is nothing more than a club cricketer with a bit of power in his shots. Shahwaiz Irfan is a real talent and power hitter.
Shahwaiz is an agile & safe wicket keeper batsman who has brute power and method to his batting. Unlike rubbish Harris who doesn't have sense that he is no AB Develliers freak who moves in the crease like a headless monkey with no stable base trying to Hit sixes left right and centre. This way He will never succeed against Top 4 bowling attacks of World Cricket.

Shahwaiz can play conventional cricket and has power. He is not a slogger.

It's a shame that he is unfit these days. He has already lost 2 years of domestic cricket despite having a good tour of Australia with Pakistan A/Shaheen.

People keep blaming the system. This system produced our previous greats as well, only difference is that once the system gave them the platform to play for the national team, they then took responsibility for their own games and put in the hard work to become great players. That same work ethic, drive and desire to become great players is missing from the current generation of players who have access to more money, facilities, technology and other resources to significantly upskill their games but they just don't want to do it, they are also enabled by a cricket board that rewards them instead of holding them accountable for their consistent mediocrity.

The issue is not the system but the attitude, complacency and the loss of drive of players like Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf e.t.c.
I hate to disagree but County Cricket had a huge role in honing the skillet and improving the performance of our "Greats", sure the Talent was identified buy it was raw.

We can't discount the contribution of County Cricket to Pakistan

The likes of Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Naseem, Rauf have had exposure to counties, different T-20 leagues around the world. Mickey Arthur put in a word for Haider Ali at Derbyshire but according to some locals, they claim they mostly found him eating outside at different resteraunts and shisha cafes.

What you get from this game is what you put in. Sadly the vast majority of Pakistani players have reached their ceiling and no longer have the drive to excel further.
