I still feel that England with some generosity from Hair can win from here ..Inzy tried his best ..you never know - others in Pakistan might want to emulate

This twilight period is very tricky for hte batsmen. Butt looked like he lost the ball and got bowled. Same for Y.Khan. And in the last over M.Yousuf missed one too from Blackwells over, but luckily no damage there. The slower balls are hard to pick. Batsmen should look to play straight as possible.
 
once afridi comes back our odi team will be second to none, kaneria will be out and afridi can open or come down the order and the bash bros will be reunited
 
what happened to the lights in gadaffi stadium, there used to be lights all around on the roof which gave it a cool orange glow
 
Great insight from Waqar. He cannot understand why KP is not off the field. He has played international cricket for god knows how long and he doesn't even know that KP is not allowed to have a substitute fielder if he started the match with the injury :20:

On this performance no chance, Salman and Akmal looked comfortable batting with each other. With Afridi not only is it a bit hit-and-miss but you also have the danger of the guy at the other end getting overawed when he starts smashing it into the next province.

Imagine how demoralising it would be for the opposition bowlers to have us 240/4 and then look at the scorecard and see that Afridi and Razzaq are still left to come in and face the lifeless old ball. It's enough to drive a bowler to early retirement.

Of course if we have to chase down a massive total then give Afridi a fling at the top of the order and try and give us a flying start but in normal circumstances I'd prefer to keep him in the lower order and watch as he is straining at the leash ready to unleash the rage.

I agree with you but then would this be a permanent change both home and away? I think Akmal and Butt would make a very solid opening partnership but the lower middle order of Malik, Razzaq and Afridi is a bit hit and miss. I'd like to see Malik back at 3, Younis at 6, Afridi at 7 and Razzaq at 8.

Had it not been for Inzy inspirational captaincy - the match would be over by now /...england would have folded up for 150 odd

I almost saw him in Lahore, just missed his lovely face in the crowd while Farhad said "There's the terror man"...maybe it was a good thing; I was gonna have nightmares for the rest of my trip :9:

now that Akmal has made 100 at the top...where is Shahid gonna go...if things keep up the way they are...then i doubt hell get to bat

I doubt Akmal will be opening for long, he is better suited down the oder in my opinion, he scored a century against WI in Australia and generally struggled at the top of the order after that.
 
problem with akmal is that he doesn't use his feet a lot and IF the bowl swings then the it would take a edge for sure
