Probably the biggest weakness of what is an overall solid attack.

Saw this Vs Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final where we had them 5-6 wickets down before the total even reached a 100 and they got to 170+

Warm up game Vs Afg, where once again we had them 80/6 or something and they scored 150 or so by scoring 66 in the last 5 overs iirc.

And today, had India at 30-4. India has never won a t20 before when they had been at 30-4 before. And we completely botched it again.

It’s like when the villain has the main character beat up and near death, but then he gets lax and the hero defeats him somehow once he sees the opportunity.

Yes, I understand Rauf, Shaheen, Naseem, Nawaz are inexperienced compared to an ATG batsman like Kohli.

But Kohli was struggling for 90% of the innings. He only let lose Vs Nawaz. He barely got an injured Shaheen away.

Fair enough this is an issue. We need to go in for the kill.

This highlights poor captaincy where the captain let's the intensity drop in the field and allows easy singles, doubles and allows batsmen to settle down and go big at the end.

A never ending issue with Babars captaincy.

Literally all T20 attacks have lost matches that should have been won, that's nature of the format.

And lol at Kohli was struggling for 90% of the inning. More like India were 32/4.

Pakistan was also let off twice. First after early strikes introduced spin and spoilt the flow. Then again Pakistan was at 120/7 once against India allowed tailenders to hit some runs. Dropped 3 catches. All Asian sides are guilty of it.

Yes this is a recurring issue, but what is the solution, it's the same bowlers who all of a sudden become ineffective, what is your suggestion on what to do here? I feel the same issue is in batting as well, guess we become complacent all of a sudden.

This post is harsh. Just because teams take 4-5 wkts doesn't mean rest will automatically skittle. There is always a turning of tide and in T20 2-3 good overs can turn inns back to balance.

Despite Pak losing Asia Cup final and today, both days bowling attack kept opposition under par. And in ydays game especially they did it despite Shaheen being off color and having to bowl 8 overs of spin

Simple, and I’m not alone in saying this, but we need to play an additional bowler over Asif.

Not to beat a dead horse but I was vehemently against the dropping of Aamer Jamal after he sealed off England, by defending 10-11 runs off the final over Vs Moeen Ali who is in the form of his life.

He’s a proper pace all rounder, with good batting and bowling stats that we could’ve easily slotted in over the handful of complete duds we call specialist batsmen.

He could’ve batted at Asif’s position.

Anyway, he’s not here, but we should use Waseem or Hasnain over Asif still. We’ve seen, Rauf, Shaheen, Naseem and apparently Waseem can all hit the ball as well. So we won’t miss out on much.

Someone like Clarke would’ve played 4 pacers vs India. And why wouldn’t he? When they’re all world class and the batsmen are mediocre.

Babar is a very timid captain who is deathly afraid to take the big boy decision. Always conforms to safety first approach that does more harm than good.

Pakistan's bowlers have struggled under pressure way back since the Akram/waqar/Akhtar days

Kohli smashed Shaheen and Rauf for 32 runs in 2 overs before the Nawaz over.

We play a bowler short because Captain Asif needs to play for his random six every 10th game.

It's all because of poor captaincy and the fear of getting hit for boundaries, we never try to get wickets in the middle overs instead we try to choke the opposition from hitting boundaries and waiting for the batsmen to make mistake and gets out, This strategy will lose more matches than winning. But sadly Babar will never realize that because he always gets in panic mode whenever there is a big over in the middle innings and tries to contain even more and let the batsmen take singles and doubles and tell bowlers to bowl slow offcuters and try to not get hit

But the problem with this strategy is that it is so plainly obvious to see by the opposition and batsmen just keep milking single and doubles and wait for the slower balls and dispatch it to the boundary, having no wicket taker aggressive spinner in the middle overs also hurt us badly.

And once the settled batsmens get in to 16/17th over , they get in to SLOG mode and scores even more. It is a dead on arrival strategy to let the opposing batsmens settled in a T20 game.

:)) struggling for 90%. Barely got Shaheen away.

Injured Shaheen, I see. Was it the same injury he was carrying when Wade smashed him to kingdom come?

Once again. Zimbabwe 97/7 and ending up with 130.

Batting definitely lost us the game.

But this is becoming very concerning now. Bowling is supposed to be our strong suit. We can’t even finish off Zimbabwe.

These T20 games can go in any direction. 20 overs is just so short. Any team can win on their day unless they are pretty bad. Maybe i am just too old for this format, but 50 overs game seems a better yard stick to measure.
