Shaz buddy, whilst I agree that Babar has not entirely lived up to the high expectations set for him, it is undeniable that he is one of the most naturally gifted batters to emerge from Pakistan. His class and potential were the reasons I started backing him 7-8 years ago.
However, my perspective has shifted slightly over the years. Now, I support Babar not just for his raw talent, but because he represents the quintessential underdog. He is a cricketer who has faced setbacks and challenges, yet still possesses the skill and determination to make a comeback. There's something inherently inspiring about rooting for someone who has been knocked down but still has the potential to rise again.
Babar is currently 31 years old, and I have made a personal promise to back him until he turns 34. I firmly believe that within these next few years, he has the capability to secure an important trophy or two for Pakistan. Such achievements would not only bring pride to our country but also be a testament to Babar's resilience and unwavering spirit.
Let's continue to support him and hope for the best in his journey. After all, who doesn't love an underdog story?![]()
A true underdog works hard despite all the disadvantages before him, Babar has been the golden goose of Pakistan cricket for many years, it’s difficult to see him in that light after the free pass he was given for many many years as a player and captain, if anything, Pakistan cricket is the the underdog which had to thrive not because of Babar, but despite him, after the damage that has been done to our very heartbeat. Babar these days is mainly determined to play politics to keep himself in the selectors minds and we already ought to have learned the hard way what our trophy prospects are when we back 1-2 people over the wider team and its developmental needs for our growth. Babar’s a sorry state unfortunately, and I can’t back such a toxic personality, I don’t see him grinding either. Personally, I think we need to move on from him and the talents he has been blessed with, he should be a good study case for youngsters that you can have all the god given ability, but ultimately Allah (swt) helps those who help themselves, and especially those who keep good company.
