What's new

Pakistan (109/2) beat Bangladesh (108/7) by 8 wickets in the 2nd T20I in Dhaka

No talent coming up for BD. Why the under 19 batsmen aren't in the 11?

For last three overs I have looked at the scoreboard. For last three overs it’s hovering around the 80run mark. Bang deserve to be …

They are blocking. I don't know why. What are they waiting for? LOL.

Brainless batting.

This is a young Bangladesh team playing a Pakistan team who just played like champions in the T20 WC. These matches will help with development of new generation of Bangladeshi players irrespective of results.

This Bangladeshi team is filled with arrogant and spoiled brats.

Bangladesh team from early-00's had more professionalism and standard than these current players.

You are right.

But, intent has been very negative.

Been hearing that about BD for last 20 years. It really is disappointing

Bangladesh will now realize the difference between facing a subcontinent team and bashing those second string Aussie and kiwi sides on these disgraceful wickets.

Pakistan should have sent their reserves. At least the humiliation of getting clean swept by a B team would have made them prepare better decks in the future. I back even Oman to give them a tough time on these wickets.

His bowling choices have actually been spot on but people like you just want to be negative to come across as edgy.

Nothing negative. If you cannot spare 1 over from Khusdil than what type of captaincy is that? He will not give away 20+ runs/over. Malik didn't bowl for years and his time is up.

Pakistan bowled well even better than last match. Bangladesh need some of their star players back. Disappointed with Mahmdullah's batting. He normally is a clutch player.

Unfortunately Bangladesh batting won’t improve under these conditions T20s are meant to be more high scoring and entertaining.

There’s little chance of Bangladesh winning a T20 World Cup for a long time lacking quality batsmen.

But how does it help the Pakistani team?

Pakistani bowlers weren't even celebrating the wickets. Not a big deal getting these players out they reckon.

But how does it help the Pakistani team?
Pakistan did not decide Bangladesh squad. So I do not know what you mean.
As far Pakistan is concerned they are trying some reserve players like Wasim, Khushdil, Nawaz whilst making sure they do not lose the series to keep rising in world ranking thereby boosting the moral of the team and picking up winning habit. No doubt they will also try more players.

Pathetic feet movement by babz..why cant they learn from.indian batters every one looks so eligant and classy

Now look at fakhars first two balls makes your blood boil...i think he thinks he is sweeping the streets

Bangladesh have good pair of opening bowlers. Babar played a casual shot to gift his wicket.

Pakistan should send in Nawaz next

He needs to be invested in the middle order

Rizwan pointlessly eating up deliveries

You could develop Mohammad Nawaz or Khushdil Shah instead

Pakistan get the most opportunity to play against sub standard international sides, yet our player development program is the worst

Why is Babar, Rizwan and Fakhar still batting in the top 3? Why will you then cry if Khushdil, Nawaz and Haider cannot get the job done for you when it is needed and then you have to keep resorting to Malik and Hafeez??

Khushdil and Nawaz got the job done yesterday.
Not sure how our development program is the worst when there have been 4 changes from T20.

I dont understand these bangladeshi commentators. how out of touch with reality are they. they are saying bangladesh did good in this match. they are claiming it was a close contest. what are they smoking?

Now every side will stick to bowling outside off to rizwan
Teams had more than two years to work that out but Rizwan kept churning big runs that too with a style. He looks off colour and not as energetic as his usual slef since his recent illness and the Bangladeshi pitches do not help

Babar Azam: The series win is a team effort. The boys responded well as a unit and we carried forward the momentum (from the WC). Bowlers did really well, especially in the last 10 overs and it always helps when you get wickets in bunches. The plans were executed properly. Don't think so (that there is an overconfidence in low chases). In low-scoring games, there is that tendency but it's important to remove complacency. Fakhar and Rizwan batted really well, and did the job. (On his two poor scores) Yeah, sometimes things don't go according to plan. Happens in cricket.

Fakhar Zaman, Player of the Match: The way wicket was playing, it was not easy early on to play my shots and with time, we were trying to build a partnership, and we succeeded. Thankfully, we finished it. To be honest, it was better than yesterday's surface but still not the ideal track for us. Whenever you play outside your country, it's very important to win games. We will keep trying hard in the next game too.

Mahmudullah: I think we started off quite well today. Afif and Shanto batted really well in the middle. Me and Shanto were trying to get a partnership but we couldn't capitalise on the end overs. For a team like us, we need a set batter to be there at the end but it didn't happen today. Boys are putting a lot of effort in the catching during the practices but unfortunately, we're missing out on chances. The bowling unit has been outstanding over the last six months, whether it is pace or spin bowling. It's the batting unit that has to come up with the goods.

I didn't even bother watching 2nd half.

Simply ordinary stuff from Bangladesh.

Congratulations, Pakistan.

All-round performance helps Pakistan seal series against Bangladesh

Pakistan secured a comprehensive eight-wicket win over Bangladesh to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

The 85-run stand between Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman helped Pakistan chase down the total of 109 in 18.1 overs.

Despite losing Babar Azam early, Bangladesh couldn't make further in-roads, succumbing to their seventh T20I defeat in a row.

Earlier, Bangladesh recovered after losing their openers in the first two overs but brilliant bowling in the back end of the innings from Pakistan, where they conceded only 44 runs in the last 10 overs, helped them restrict Bangladesh to a below-par total.

Afif, Najmul consolidate after early strikes

Bangladesh captain Mahmud Ullah called it right at the toss and once against chose to bat first against Pakistan.

Back in the XI replacing Hasan Ali, Shaheen Afridi struck early yet again with a vintage in-swinger into the right-hander, trapping Saif Hassan in front for a golden duck. His fellow opener Mohammad Naim followed him back to the pavilion an over later.

Afif Hossain's six in the next over off Afridi was a signal of intent from the batters as they started to counter-attack after the two early wickets. Najmul Hossain too kept finding the boundaries, taking Bangladesh to 36/2 in the Powerplay.

Bowlers stifle Bangladesh

Just when it looked like the batters had settled down, Afif fell trying to play a cheeky reverse paddle against Shadab Khan, only for the ball to catch the leading edge to Mohammad Rizwan behind the stumps.

In spite of the wicket, Najmul Hossain continued to play attacking cricket to keep the scoreboard ticking. Skipper Mahmud Ullah fell soon trying to dab the ball to third, only to catch the edge into the gloves of Rizwan.

Pakistan sent the other set batter Najmul Hossain Shanto in the very next over, with Shadab Khan taking a stunning return catch off his own bowling. The bowlers gave no respite to the Bangladesh batters, bowling tight lengths to curb the flow of runs.

With pressure building, Pakistan kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. Bangladesh found the boundary just once in the last eight overs as they limped to 108/7 in 20 overs.

Easy chase for Pakistan

In reply, Pakistan lost their skipper Babar Azam in just the third over for 1, once again chopping on to his stumps like he did in the first T20I.

Apart from the one six from Fakhar Zaman, Pakistan went boundary-less for the rest of the Powerplay, finishing on 27/1. The next four overs too fetched only a boundary but with the field spread out, there were plenty of runs on offer for the batters.

The batters started to tee off in the 11th over of the innings. Fakhar was given a reprieve by Saif Hasan, who dropped a skier in the deep. To make it worse, he let it trickle away for a four, helping Rizwan and Fakhar bring up their 50-run partnership.

Fakhar punished the bowlers for bowling short to him, smashing two sixes en route to his seventh T20I fifty. Rizwan too got a lifeline after Taskin Ahmed dropped him but was out two balls later. Aminul Islam, who was the bowler both the times the catches were dropped, finally got a wicket against his name.

Pakistan eventually completed the formalities with 11 balls and eight wickets remaining.

Rizwan was never so leg sided until the WC. He's caught this habit of swatting everything towards leg side lately. And because of his growing reputation teams are likely to pick it up quickly

They tried it in the WC as well but Rizwan still managed to drag it on to the leg-side.

But he did miss a lot of scoring opportunities through the off side. Lets be honest his strike rate is not special and it'll improve if he works on his off side game too

He has decent enough off side game, but lately he is trying that leg side wack from the hips every other ball.

We need to rest the players and test the bench
