Pakistan [138/4 in 17.5 ov] defeat Cricket Australia XI [134] by 6 wickets to win practice T20 game

God forbid - why would we ever track ahead of the run rate?! For Misbah, that's blasphemous! We've seen this all too often during his time as captain... just barely keep yourself in the game and hope that nothing goes wrong till the end.

Haris Sohail doing what Fakhar was meant to.

This is why we need him, he can hit spin and score at a decent rate against pace.

Haris probably doesn't like Misbah much. It was under his captaincy that Younis was preferred over Haris in ODIs.

Now I have got the feeling that Misbah just selected the youngsters to avoid the criticism from media , I think the senior will be in the playing XI.

Lmaooo Asif Duck Ali honestly his daughters death was something very tragic but we need to put that aside now and need to totally stop keep giving him chances he hasn’t done anything not even a single run as of late to be still playing in this side.
 
With this slow/defensive mindset if Aus XI scores 20 more runs they could have won this match

Wow Muhammad Rizwan the best wicketkeeper batsmen in our country is 7 off 14 in a t20 game against 4Th grade Australia club side subhanallah.

Jokes aside I’ve seen enough of this midget to know how trash of a player he is I’m so done with Pakistan cricket if they keep producing these 5”2 wicket keepers

Babar is too weak to have authority in deciding playing 11 and batting order.

I want this team be lead by someone who is street smart like Imad.
 
Looks like we will whitewashed by Australia comprehensively either loosing the match by 8-9 wickets or 120+ runs.

I rate him. He can be very good in tests, and decent in ODIs. T20Is might not be his format but he was a top performer in the national t20.

Legspinner Shadab Khan claimed three scalps as Pakistan warmed up for their T20 series against Australia with a comfortable six-wicket win over a Cricket Australia XI.

After Shadab took 3-30 in Pakistan's first match of the tour at Bankstown Oval, the visitors chased down their target of 135 with 13 balls to spare.

Fakhar Zaman hit 43 off 39 in the pursuit, while Babar Azam hit 34 and Harris Sohail powered to 32 from just 22 balls before being bowled by Ben Dwarshuis (2-18).

Pakistan Quick Muhammad Irfan also began the tour with a wicket on the first ball of the match, producing an inswinging yorker to bowl Ryan Gibson.

But Shadab was easily the tourists' best, after he went through the CA XI's middle order.

The former Brisbane Heat spinner had Alex Ross (17) and Nathan McSweeney (30) both caught on the sweep and trapped Baxter Holt (16) lbw to finish with 3-30 on Thursday.

You are some what right in terms of selecting of team for T 20. but seriously in contrast what you are selecting in test.

three fast bowler having played over a decade of cricket. compared to a virtually an under 19 sauad.

Good preparation for us all, wickets here are a bit different. We took some time to adjust to the wicket. Hopefully this preparation helps us against Australia.

New ball swings wherever you play. Babar played well alongside me. Our target was small so we played according to that and tried to get some time at the crease.

Bowling was good, we restricted them at the start and then at the death also. Spinners bowled well.

Our preparation is going well, boys are in nick, we are hopeful of having good matches against Australia.

Rizwan is no Buttler but we are a nothing cricket nation these days. World class players are not growing on trees and WK batsmen have always been a weakness for us. Rizwan is not going to set the world in fire but he cannot perform worse than Sarfraz. I think he is a very decent player for our standards.

Yes compared to out of form safraz right now, rizwan is a better option. If rohail nazirs keeping skills are better than rizwan then he will replace rizwan soon if rizwan cant keep his batting and keeping standards upto intl level.

Even when Sarfaraz was in form I dont remember him scoring 2 centuries in an ODI series and that too against Aus. Rather Sarfaraz has only 2 centuries in his whole ODI career. Sarfaraz had pretty limited skill with the bat and Rizwan is definitely an upgrade.

The sad thing is just like our fast bowlers and Batters there is no other keeper to challenge Rizwan and Saffy this obviously Rizzy deserves his chance but i agree i dont have much hopes as he is just like saffy a rabbit
 
Lol, we always get very poor practice games against low quality opposition players, typical trick played by the English and Australian team. We won our practice games in 2016-17 as well, end result we still got whitewashed in 2017. ICC needs to intervene here and make it a level playing field.

Luckily the practice game before the test team is against a good side. Australia's proper A team, led by Alex Carey. Includes Khawaja, Marcus Harris, Sean Abbot and other current and previous international players.

Lol, totally agreed. Why do they all hate Misbah so much and act like he's public enemy 1? Misbah has done wonders for our cricket yet these guys keep bashing him. It's ridiculous.

Pakistan has started its tour on the right leg, beating a young Cricket Australia XI by six wickets.

The world’s top-ranking Twenty20 international side walked out to field to boisterous cheers from a Bankstown crowd heavily skewed in their favour.

The towering Mohammed Irfan gave local fans more to cheer about immediately, bowling Ryan Gibson – one of the CA XI’s more proven performers – for a golden duck and things did not get much better for the hosts from there as they were held to a total of 6-134, with only two batsmen passing 20.

The Pakistanis made light work of the chase, with opener Fakhar Zaman (43 off 39) and Babar Azam (34 off 29) putting on a 78-run opening stand before first-drop Haris Sohail smashed 32 off 22 in a 14-ball win.

If there was a positive for Australia to take out of the match ahead of Sunday’s first encounter it was the fact Pakistan captain Azam, the world’s No.1 T20I batsman, and explosive opener Fakhar were bother kept relatively constrained. There was also the performance of Ben Dwarshuis (2-18), who removed both Sohail and Asif Ali (0) as the match neared its conclusion.

Having not played a T20I in more than three years, 2.16m tall quick Irfan started proceedings with a wicket-maiden, with first drop and captain Chris Lynn seeing out five dot balls. Lynn would make up for that slow start but just as he started to get going he was on his way back to the sheds. Having hit back-to-back fours and then a six over square off the first three balls of the sixth over from Wahab Riaz, Lynn was bowled on the fourth for 24 off 16.

By the end of the power play CA XI had made its way to 2-40 and the innings never really took off from there. Imad Wasim ended opener Jake Fraser-McGurk’s dogged 20 off 15 in the seventh, trapping him in front, before spin twin Shadab Khan accounted for Alex Ross (17 off 16).

Twenty-year-olds Nathan McSweeney (30 off 26) and Baxter Holt (16 off 15) did their best to rebuild from there, adding 27 runs for the fifth wicket. Shadab accounted for both of them with back-to-back balls in the 16th, McSweeney caught sweeping and Holt trapped in front. While the leggie was guilty of dropping short on occasion, he still picked up match-best figures of 3-30.

He’ll have to be better against the Australia team proper but it is a positive start to the tour for the world’s fourth best T20I bowler, according to the ICC’s official rankings.
