Comms talking about how Pakistan are bad at running 2's and that cost them the game.
stupid analysis imo, we ran more singles, less dot balls, more 4's
Waqar and Urooj lack analytical skills
We give 11 wides, that is really where we messed up

Shahid Afridi has won more matches for Pakistan than Riz or Babar.

And I don't even like Afridi.

Neither do I. Rubbish captain but when it was his day, he won matches in all formats for Pakistan.

Babar has been playing all these years and the only two stand out innings he has are his half century in the 152 run chase against India and the hundred against New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup.

I get that Babar is playing well today.

But to keep things in perspective, this is NZ C?

This is the type of team Babar excels against anyways.

No-context cricket should use this. Such a dumb question as always from Jazz

Did babar just play on the backfoot? Yes ho kya raha hai? How? How did he actually manage the backfoot? Where the hell was this when I was complaining for the past few games? Or is it just a sodhi special?

Babar can use these C teams to practice obviously he's going to struggle vs full strength teams

Usman 31 (23), if he gets 10 more runs it will probably be enough to cement his place in the side against Ireland series

Surely wo

Surely worked on taking 2s.

Bowling is poor and it's a good batting wicket.

The question that needs to be asked is why did has it taken the 5th game of the series for him to turn up?

Usman khan showed promise but was a shaky innings.

Babar actually somehow played a backfoot shot against spin today? Like what the hell?

Because his opening place was on the line.

Usman Khan (what's this UK crap - is it so hard to spell the guy's name ?) has just barely earned his place for the England tour.

Hasn't set the world alight but after his PSL, he's earned a longer rope.

About Afridi winning matches or me liking Afridi?

You have to be more specific.
About Afridi winning matches more matches. Afridi played in a much better side and featured in close to 500 international games and failed in most of those games with the bat

Lost many but won 32 Man of Match awards.

More than Babar or Riz will ever earn in their career.

This is where we are stuck.

Don’t have the strokes to get boundaries at this stage of the innings.

Now, we’ll plod along at 7 runs per over till the 16 the over, regardless of conditions, and gift the match to the opposition

Of course Usman when he actually starts looking good he gets out and when he was rubbish at the start somehow he stays in 😄.

Promising though. I think he can be given a few more chances. He was the most impressive IMO out of the PSL batsmen this year.

Saim I dunno what to do about him. If we play him and he continues failing, it won’t be good for his confidence or career. If we drop him, he might lose confidence too. I think the simple error is we picked him before he was ready. Two more years later, it would have been fine.

When you aim 170 at toss.. this is what you get in the play

Why is babar slowing down
Tbf he's playing AlrightE. I don't mind it if he carries on this way upto the world cup.

He's truing to hit and showed intent.

@topspin looks like babar only switched on to prevent the avg falling to 39 😂😂. He saved his avg for a few games now.

Babar has been a much better T20I player since his ton vs NZ last year.

Till then, he used to strike at 127. Has struck at 140 + since then .

Lol.
Afridi featured in 398 odi's and won 32 MoM awards. And some he got for his bowling.

Babar 13 in 117 ODI's.
And number for tests and t20Is I haven't even checked.

This is where Babar struggles against spin.

This is the reason why needs to be aggressive and score quickly in the powerplay against pacers like he did today.

Where are the sweeps and reverse sweeps ? Any attempts at innovation with scoops/laps ?

We just let these spinners go through their overs.

Similar kind of issue with Kohli as well isn't it. He also struggles vs spin in middle overs.

Stats without context right here.

Afridi played against first string teams. He wasn't bashing B/C string bowling attacks.

If Afridi was playing this kind of opposition he would have had much better stats.

Think the pitch is too slow and low to play such shots. Cricviz giving it rating of 1 each for pace and bounce

Don't compare test class batsmen to hacks.

So all his other 80 plus innings in all format were not stand out?
One player does not win the match all on his own, some others also contribute to win the match.

Has Fakhar always taken so long to start?
I know in recent times he takes a while to kick-off
But was this always the case

Babar actually should try to play these midwicket backfoot and frontfoot shots against spin. He is decent when he does

This innings is good from Babar but I am not convinced he can play at this every time as an opener.

Fakhar the destroyer at an earth shattering strike-rate of 64.28 in the middle-overs.

Not one shot off the middle of his bat so far.
