The series result was not at all good in any way. It should have been a whitewash but as usual this team made a mess. The batting looks like living in 90s again. Not good.

I'm not saying it's always possible to score 200+ but at least have the ambition. The wickets we play on determine what a good score is not some franchise league where narine can bang a quick fire 100.
That is no yard stick.
Misbah was pakistans no.1 ranked t20 player according to icc ratings for a few monthsI am never giving it a rest until you acknowledge chacha was the biggest fault and the sole culprit.
As for Misbah, I'm ironically suprised by your response because I was actually defending Misbah in this instance as to why he shouldn't have been forced to retire. Granted he ain't a t20 player but that doesn't mean they shpuld have forced his hand for that game.
If anything 2007 is where he should have been given the boot.
And? Babar is no 1 in odi and always top 5 in t20? So who cares. Even you don't believe he's no 1 mate.Misbah was pakistans no.1 ranked t20 player according to icc ratings for a few months
In Lahore on April 28th, following Pakistan's victory against New Zealand in the last T20 match, Ambassador Henny de Vries of the Netherlands, adorned in a green shirt, arrived at Gaddafi Stadium. There, she met with Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, exchanging congratulations on the successful arrangements made for the match. During their discussions, matters of mutual interest, cricket, and bilateral relations were addressed.
Ambassador de Vries shared her impressions of the match and praised the stadium's arrangements with Chairman Naqvi. She expressed delight in witnessing the discipline of cricket displayed at Gaddafi Stadium and noted the evident enthusiasm among cricket fans. Chairman Naqvi, in turn, expressed gratitude to Ambassador de Vries for attending the match and emphasized the special bond between the Pakistani nation and the game of cricket, highlighting cricket's role in uniting hearts.
Chairman Naqvi extended congratulations to the entire PCB team for their efforts in organizing the Pakistan New Zealand T20 series, acknowledging the dedication of other institutions involved. The Chief Operating Officer of PCB, Salman Naseer, and the First Secretary of the Netherlands Embassy also graced the occasion with their presence.
you said he should had retired in 2007, so now dont say who cares, according to the rankings, he was pakistans best t20 player. And? Babar is no 1 in odi and always top 5 in t20? So who cares. Even you don't believe he's no 1 mate.
Don't see why you're bringing this up, it's as useless as your neesham argument.
I agree with the first part that the aim should be 200 however pitch and weather conditions determine a good score on any given day.I'm not saying it's always possible to score 200+ but at least have the ambition.
And whether we like it or not as Pakistan fans - IPL isn't "some franchise league" but the equivalent to white-ball cricket what the English County Championship once was to red-ball cricket.
The standard is as high as some bilateral international series, certainly higher than any other T20 league, and one of the biggest reasons why Pakistan has stagnated in white-ball cricket is our players non-participation in IPL where the best players and coaches in the world rub shoulders.
I agree and in fairness, these Lahore pitches were sluggish and not always conducive for powerplay.I agree with the first part that the aim should be 200 however pitch and weather conditions determine a good score on any given day.
The ipl is a franchise league and that is a fact.
It is a hype of entertainment with a bag of money at the end of it.
lets not fool ourselves.
When players like narine can bang quick fire hundreds for fun it is no class or standard of cricket.
County cricket and Shield cricket in Aus is still the pinnacle from a cricketing point of view.
The only thing the PK players miss out on is bigger pay cheques than they already get.
Yea. I felt we needed to go in a new direction captaincy wise.I agree and in fairness, these Lahore pitches were sluggish and not always conducive for powerplay.
However we've seen over his 4 year captaincy tenure that Babar often misjudges what a par score is. Either he's too conservative on flat decks or too ambitious on slow pitches.
He should have been given the boot in 2007 yes, 100% agree.you said he should had retired in 2007, so now dont say who cares, according to the rankings, he was pakistans best t20 player.
again, a guy is no.1 ranked in t20, so how can he be booted out.He should have been given the boot in 2007 yes, 100% agree.
Also brother, Please don't stoop to a ranking argument.
Both you and I know its cap, Misbah is not the best t20 player for Pakistan in 2007. That wouldn't be the case even if you were to play him on the ps5.
Major bro, you really need to get off the misbah bandwagon. All the claims he's made or the decisions he has made or the notable innings he's played in white ball cricket irrespective of intent of whether he deliberately tried to destroy or it was just coincendtal were a failure each and every time.
2007: India botch
2011: Mohali botch
Game against England: Pakistan has a greater RR yet misbah botched it to the point we needed 6 of the last ball and was forced to suffer a humiliating retirement.
Ct 2013: Randomly made Umar Amin his vc despite UA being a debutant and took IF as his opener completly randomly even though IF was brought back for one series where granted he scored a 100, but failed in other games. None of that implied he shpuld be frontline, as IF proved he's a one hit wonder who'll score a snails pace 100 once a blue moon.
^^ His CT 2013 was so bad, infact it was the worst ct performance of all time by any pakistani captain.
2015 wc: Despite sarfi being the highest scorer Sr and Avg wise in the 2014 Australian odi series and fawad alam being your highest run scorer in the middle order in 2014, he discards fawad for YK? Then he decides to keep sarfi out for 6 games over jamshed who can't even cross to a double digit score? In fact misbah hypocritically decides to claim Jamshed who's been a frontline failure since 2013 hasn't been given enough chances AFTER 6 GAMES.
2019: He comes back as selector and coach, you wish to talk about No 1 ranks? What about when Pakistan was ranked no 1 in t20 under sarfraz, on what basis did misbah decide to bring shehzad and akmal and a 37 year old irfan out of the blue? In a set up that had already been a no 1 rank? And on what basis was imam allowed to open in that one game?
Misbah's stint resulted in a lower order of chacha, Kushdil, and asif, which led to losses against Zimbabwe in t20 lol. Don't even get started on chacha and kshudil's innings
The babar and rizzu combo that you praise so highly got memed so badly in 2022, that the meme got extended to Nepal E Azam in 2023 .
^^ Bro I get you like Misbah, You probs think he saved pakistan cricket after the spot fixing era, but bro, give it a rest. Dude is a failure of a cricketer and a failure of a captain and a failure of a coach in white ball cricket, uae fortress wasn't his decison and cake cutting nonsense happened, and in his era we still had issues if rape(yasir shah), and fixers in his era too. He didn't fix anything.
Tbf to misbah his Red ball effort shpuld be appreciated. He should have kept his hands on red ball only. Never shpuld have been allowed to even utter the word white ball.
In the same way one of babar/rizwan should be booted out of t20 despite being ranked no 3(rizwan) and no 5(babar).again, a guy is no.1 ranked in t20, so how can he be booted out.
No point of long essays when you cant stick to one point.
