What's new

Pakistan [190/7] beat Sri Lanka [188] in the Under-19 World Cup to qualify for the quarter-finals

Looks a genuine 18 year old to me. My brother is 19, and definitely looks a lot older than him.

Having watched a lot of these players since past few months perform I think that this U-19 team has a lot of potential and few of the players like Rohail,Said,Taha,Hasan,Arshad and Shaheen have a great chance to represent the main team in future provided they keep on working hard.
Coming onto the batting,I feel that Zaid is the kind of player we want in our white ball games. He is positive, scores more than run a ball, can hit sizes with ease and looks damn stylish, and lastly he can score all around the ground but he has to convert his starts into something big.
Next is Rohail , selectors need to keep an eye on this lad as he and Umair Masood are the future wk's.Ammad is an accumulator, has a good technique but is very inconsistent.Taha is without a doubt the best batsman in this team while Zaryab and Saad are pretty good players but then again they take lots of balls to score their runs.Thats why it becomes more important for Zaid to play a long innings.
Coming onto the bowling I have absolutely no clue why Shafqat keeps on playing, surely we can play a pacer in ace of this lad.Hassan's bowling and batting has been strictly okay and his captaincy has been horrible. The Pacers are the most exciting from this team.Musa is quite quick,Shaheen is class!,has got height, swing ,pace and uses his yorkers and short balls really really well but the best bowler from this team is Arshad Iqbal.Arshad can bowl around 90 miles and that's what so exciting about him plus he has got great control.
It will be great to see these quicks play in the QF as I feel this bowling lineup has the ability to match the ability of Indian quicks.

Why has Taha failed consistently ever since the U19 Asia Cup? He was our best bat then a class apart and scoring at quick rate. But of late he's been playing slow as a turtle.
