Pakistan (207/1) defeat New Zealand (204) by 9 wickets in the third T20I game to keep the series hope alive

Yeah good headaches to have.
We still have saim,haider and Minhas in the circuit.
With these 3 also we would become world beaters hopefully.
We still need to find a no 7 finisher.

Khushdil should still make it. No harm with Asif Ali and Iftikhar on the bench either. Akif Javed also as a back up for the seamers. Im hoping for Aamer Jamal to grow as a batter, he is a good ball striker

I also believe Haris can be tried in lower order. Lets see how it all pans out. It's a good headache to have.

Khushdil isn't good against pace.
Asif can be on the bench but ifti has now completely lost it.
Akif is still unproven at international level.So first have to see how he performs in odi series.
This year's psl will be make or break for many players and hopefully this competition will bring the best out of them all.

This victory today is so important. Its just opened up so many possibilities because the team will now believe that they can play proper modern cricket.

on top of it, a team that doesnt depend on Babar and Rizwan will now have so many options to think positively.

Nafay,maaz ,Omair willhave to perform well in psl to put pressure on haris,Hassan and saim
Now we have 6 proper T20 openers but alas rizbar told we don't have any world class openers.

Babar and Rizwan opening duo was over in 2022 WT20. That was the last nail. They should've never opened again after that.

Realistically you only needed one of them at no. 3 and the other out of the team. Now that no. 3 is occupied by Salman. So Babar and Rizwan might as well say good bye to their T20I careers for now.

Pakistan should never go back now. Even if this lot fails. Bring back other youngsters in the format.

Even for that pathetic RizBar standard, Saud Shaqeel is a better option than those two.

only thing that was impressive in today’s win was intent of openers but one innings is not enough to judge quality of player. Boundaries were really small and lot of mis timed shots and edges were flying over boundary. So lets see how these youngsters do in different conditions and grounds
 
Watching Pakistan cricket is so entertaining- pal mein tola pal mein masha!! One day down in the dumps, the other day rising from the ashes. Thank god I’m not a Pakistani cricket team fan or it would be so crazy to board this roller coaster of performances! Exhilarating chase today, totally unlike Pakistan and as an Indian fan I’m crying to bring Rizwan and Babar back to open 🤣

The intent from the openers was there in the first 2 games as well, it didn’t come off.
 
What a game, what a chase. Truly remarkable stuff and kinda crazy for this group to shatter all kinds of Pakistani records after the batting performances in the first two games. Best PP score, quickest to 100 runs as a team and chasing 205+ in 16 overs is incredible work.

Hats off to Hassan Nawaz. Starting your career with consecutive ducks and then pulling off the fastest century in T20's for Pakistan is quite crazy. Hats to management for sticking with him. Like I said in the last match when got out for a duck, he has talent but it's quite raw. Everything clicked for him today and he pulled off on an epic innings. He was shaky in the early stages but really got into his shot range after a nervy start.

Nice to see Haris have a great innings too. Nawaz was settling in early on while he was taking the attack to the bowlers and gave that early relief.

I didn't see the first innings so I am not sure how the bowlers managed to limits in this tiny ground to be honest. Seems like an accomplishment to limit them to just over 200+ on this flat pitch and tiny ground. Great win all around.

But much more important than one game is the fact that PCB is willing to go down a new path, invest in new players, do something different. And that’s the reason this game is important, inspiring.

It’s one performance that’s lead to a win. Pakistan batted well in the last game too with their resources

135 in 15 overs is a good effort, they are clear on how they want to play.

I saw that too. In fact I remember thinking that their strike rates were at once better than their predecessors, even when losing in the first two games.

If top order plays like this, the pressure on middle order will drop and we will see more performances from the middle order anyway.
IrfanN, Khusdil, Haider Ali, Agha Salman, and Abdul Samad should all be given a long rope

No i m not bitter at all.

It makes me laugh when i see that Pakistanis are comparing their batters with that of ours instead of Indians, Australians,South Africans or New Zealanders. Why? Because their ceiling has come down to such level. I never disagreed with the fact that we don't or didn't have any class t20 batters in our side. Rather i was pointing out that you shouldnt be excited at all seeing one hurricane innings from a Pak batter. We saw this excitement about Asif,about Khushdil,about Haris, about irfan,Shadab and so many...but they didn't last long. I want a long term prospect,who can perform on consistent basis. If it is Newaz i have no objection. For that to conclude just sit back ,relax and see whether it happens or not.
 
Loved watching us bat after a LONG time, even neutrals fans would have tuned in to watch this monstrous chase.

While I still don’t think Haris or Hassan will be able to score like this against better bowling attacks, the end result is that the right mindset is being applied.

Should be the end of Babar and Rizwan’s pathetic efforts in ‘stabilizing’ the innings every match. They have to improve themselves massively if they want to get into the T20 team.

They are the team to beat in the next t20 event. Even India will find it hard now to beat Pakistan in t20
