Man these threads are so empty when Pak are on top.

What a clinical bowling by Pakistanis.

Pak missed a trick by preparing roads and not playing Rauf in test series.

Our batters should chase it comfortably and win the series.

Let's go Pakistan!
 
A good chance for Babar to get an easy 100, if one of the openers goes out early.
 
Aus missed winning the last game and now they will be losing the series.
 
Pakistan's lack of a quality spinner and fifth bowler was slightly exposed at the end there. Both issues will be resolved to some extent once Shadab and Nawaz return. Chacha Ifti making up the overs cannot be a long-term plan :))

Overall an excellent display from the bowlers particularly with the new ball.

I still believe we should have won the first game as well.

Babar and Imam were both well set when Babar suddenly tried to play a sweep off a full ball, a shot he plays very rarely.

His dismissial, along with a huge lack of intent meant that we eventually messed up a game we could have won.
 
A hattrick of centuries for Imam would be pretty incredible. I believe Babar did it as well back in 2016 vs WI in UAE.

Doing it against Aus is not easy always, not sure if anyone have done that.

If Imam can get there then thats a remarkable achievement..
 
No sense of Asif Ali when Pak already have two hacks Iftikhar and Khushdil in lower half.
 
Fakhar was unsung hero last match , hegave a good start and also as usual fielded really well.

It looks to me as if, Babar inherited that hesitant mentality from his prev coach and captain Misbah to debut youngsters and backing seniors chances after chances even if they fail..

He has selected Asif today by dropping Saud and also benching Haider, Haris and Shafique.. Thats sheer stupidity..

They have lost many games for selecting him in the middle order to hit 1 or 2 sixers...
 
Zahid mehmood was brought in as a replacement for Nawaz after he was ruled out of the series..


How come he play all 3 ODIs, Usman Qadir who was selected as a first choice legspinner didnt play a game..

Usman Qadir would definitely have done much better than this old debutant..

Pakistan selections always baffles me... Today they have gone to TTF Asif Ali instead of Saud, Haider, Shafique and Haris..

Is it Babar afraid of playing young players just like Misbah ?

Why Pakistan play hackers in their middle order, trend set by Misbah when he was the coach cum selector...After Hafeez and Haris Sohail , now they are upto Asif , Ifthikar and Khushdil

He played Danish Aziz and Asif Ali ahead of Haider and Shafique in SA

He didnt play Haider as no.4 but keep selecting him in the squad...

Now Saud is also dropped for Asif Ali. MA never selected Asif Ali after his first series, as he knew that he is a gully mohalla cricketer..

We basically trying our T20 team here...with Aussies scroing low in this match and most of the runs scored by the top order, seems like we will get away with this...
 
Babar should learn from these field settings by Aus..

Low total and Aus come out with a plan for everyone and put close in fielders and fielders in catching positions...

Lot of fielders in unorthadox positions, Aus trying to force somethign to happen, usually our captains would just go through the motions at this stage and wait for something to happen,Babar could defo learn from this out of the box thinking.
 
Thankfully Pakistan are playing the match at a normal pace instead of being extremely and putting more pressure on themselves. Just keep taking singles and putting away the occasional bad ball when given.

So many good things to see in last 2 games but a mind boggling selection this. Apart from being a terrible cricketer he just doesnt fit into this team. Already got 2 lower order hitters(hacks)
 
Whoa Imam with a sweep. When do we ever see that?

Would be great for him if he can develop this as a consistent shot vs spinners.
 
I am becoming an Imam fan now. He's been playing at a good rate hardly taking any risks. Safe as houses
 
Rizwan has been struggling in the ODIs a lot especially... for the last 1 year he had only 1 fifty against England in the dead rubber, without that he has scored only 120 runs in 10 inns which is an avg of 12

They play Rizwan at 4 and with Saud gone today... Aus if given a sniff , they will roll over this line up
 
Is that only a foreigh coach they need to point out that they have a very poor middle order.. They gonna have a lot of trouble soon, not every game Babar and Imam can bat through..
 
Imam should be a little more positive, got the chance to get his 3rd ton in a row against Aus, regardless of bowling attacks would be some achievement..

Imam just before pindi test got so much criticism as parchi.

And look how his stature has improved in one month. 4 centuries
Fighting 70 odd in lahore Test 4th innings and important runs in 3rd ODI as well.
 
Babar has a great batting average, and good set of 50s and 100s in ODIs.Easily the best all format player of current era.

Babar Azam will easily become Pakistan’s best ever ODI batsman.

And possibly one of the best ever overall - certainly will be right up there in a few years time.

Just hope he keeps his head down and stays hungry for success.
 
This forum under appreciates players to the extent that I wish we never had them in order for you people to grasp an understanding of how good they are
 
Its uncanny how even chand is supporting Pakistan and it did not spoil the party today and let everybody have fun day out today and eat their lollies. Players and supporter can enjoy fasting from tomorrowwith full day matches completed.

Irrespective of the opposition bowling attack, the ability to chase 348 has done wonders for the team, even lifting up the bowling unit..
