Fakhar and Haseebullah should deny Riz-Bar the opportunity to statpad in a small run chase

Babar & Rizwan might be convincing Shaheen to send them to open the inning. Golden opportunity for them to get some personal milestones
 
Just dont understand PCT mentality...we're desperate for explosive middle order batters in white ball cricket esp nos 5/6; so where do you try a new up and coming player who boasts a few shots? Yes. Opening. Brilliant.

We already have 8 players wanting/wishing/begging to open because they dont have the all round game for middle order batting ... Saim, Farhan, Fakhar, Haris, Nawaz, Usman, Riz, Babar and now we add Haseebullah to that list. Full House.

For such a small target Team management should try players Hassan Nawaz or M. Nawaz at opening to give blistering start. I know they are not in playing 11 but in dead rubbers they should always experiment.

I don't understand why team management is adopting such a conservative approach at opening in ODIs
 
Haseebullah's innings reflects why people like Rizwan have played 100 ODIs. You just can't blame Rizwan or selectors for this.

Now since Pak doesn't have any reliable Keeper who can keep in ODIs and Tests, Pak has to stick with Rizwan till they find any solution. Now sticking with Rizwan also means using him at the position he most comfortable and productive. That's what Pak is doing.

The day Pak finds better keeper, Rizwan should be dropped for good. As simply as that.

The old logic used to be that if a keeper that can bat in the top 6 then he plays as an allrounder which frees up a space for an extra specialist bowler, batter or another allrounder...

I’ve always argued that Rizwan getting preferential treatment to suit him only is of NO BENEFIT for the growth of Pakistan cricket!

I don't think there's anyone in world Cricket right now. Who's ball start to shape in or starts to reverse as quickly as it does for Wasim Jr.

He becomes such an attacking option in any conditions because of it. He will get reverse swing. Even if little bit.
 
After looking all out of sorts for a while, Fakhar showing he still has juice left. Looks completely in control today.
 
I don't understand the hype about this boy Hassebullah..he does not look to me international material . This match is really boring . No interest in this match.Pakistan is far better and experienced team compared to this SL side. It's better to watch emerging Asia Cup India A Vs Pakistan A.

Talat continuing to get chances just keeps blowing my mind. They really look at this rubbish accumulator and think yeah, he totally makes sense at the 6th spot when the WC comes around in SA where he will mostly face pace. Just a spot and chances being wasted on a player that either won't in the WC squad or will do terribly if he happens to be.

Talat looks ordinary

Kamran Ghulam deserves another chance. He would have done well in the home series and that would have boosted his confidence ahead of games against tougher opposition

Theekshana borrowing deep in his pockets for a good 20 seconds then putting that same hand on the ball and rubbing the seam. Should definitely be investigated, very sus
 
Back to back Fifties for Mohammad Rizwan. This time, he completed his 50 in 83 balls with 3 Fours.

I am sure it will be shocking for you to learn it takes for youngsters before they establish themselves. Rizwan for example made his international debut in 2015 and didn't become a regular until 2020.
 
Don’t know what happened to Sri Lankan catching in this series. Normally quite safe fielders

Not shocking at all, im well aware, just making a very valid point to a very stupid and needless statement. People have issues with batsmen raising their hands for a 50 on their 100th ODI, a milestone game as if they’ve never celebrated anything in their lives.

I get your point but if the opposing team gets bowled out for 150, should our batters also go at 3 an over?

This target could have been achieved in < 40 overs (that is what good teams like Australia do) esp. considering Lankan bowling. No body really threatening apart from Hasaranga

I think Pakistan will move up to #4 in ODi rankings now
 
Wasim Jr should be given the MoM award for his bowling

But I know they will probably give it to Fakhar or Rizwan
