Faheem and Nawaz two of Pakistan’s most important players atm

Babar, Rizwan, Shaheen, Haris & Naseem are bigger mental midgets than Nawaz. We all have seen their performances in so many big matches in ICC & ACC tournaments. This is gross generalisation
Agha’s position is only dubious in T20s lately because of lack of any batting performance (poor average and SR in the last 15-20 T20Is which is not a small sample size!). If he improves and bats like this in T20Is he will surely gain respect from everyone.
Nawaz does well in bilaterals and against weaker teams in general but is a mental midget esp. in big or pressure games esp. games vs India. Remains to be seen if there is an improvement.
It was a bad throw i thought he could have ran him.out on both sides but as i.said yesterday hasaranga is too good.for these guys. This defeat should hurtEveryone casually forgetting Rizwan’s bongi missing the run out?

TrueThe throw was fine
Rizwan was sleeping
Thanks God you are not named Han Solo...I have a bad feeling about this
Isn't this his 3rd?Naseem much better 2nd spell bowler
Nawaz and Faheem V2.0 have been a revelation...they have actually come back stronger...same cannot be said RizBar...Nawaz cameo at the end saved them
no they did nt play well after start they got and heavy dew in final 10 overs.. they should have cruised to victory in such conditions. not to mention Pak gave away 18 extra Runs and also penalized for slow over rate with extra fielder inside circle. Sri Lanka chose to field because of dewGood win for Pakistan, but SL played really well here. I doubt Pakistan would have come anywhere near this total if they batted second.
Nawaz still fails under pressure.Nawaz and Faheem V2.0 have been a revelation...they have actually come back stronger...same cannot be said RizBar...

As the previous poster has mentioned, Sri Lankan should have walked this considering the start they had and the dew made bowling every difficult...all credit to the Pakistani bowlersNot a convincing win, even does not feel like a win
Credit to Sri Lankan batters for getting this close despite losing wickets at regular intervals.
What are you even talking sri lanka is ranked 4th are top team better than so called bazz ball england who are number 8 and sri lanka has beaten every team at home beating them is pretty good effort by pakistanHonestly sometimes I enjoy these types of matches even more than matches between two good teams
I would kick Rizwan out of the team for at least 1 game. That was such a LAZY keeping for not to properly backing up the fielder with all of his experience. That just epitomizes Pakistan professional culture - lazy, laid back , cavalier!no they did nt play well after start they got and heavy dew in final 10 overs.. they should have cruised to victory in such conditions. not to mention Pak gave away 18 extra Runs and also penalized for slow over rate with extra fielder inside circle. There was pressure today and in the game against the Saffers and he performed in both with the bat...Nawaz still fails under pressure.
Faheem has been good though. He's performed with bat and ball when it matters.
Rankings don't mean much if you finish so low in the World Cup that you can't even qualify for the Champions TrophyWhat are you even talking sri lanka is ranked 4th are top team better than so called bazz ball england who are number 8 and sri lanka has beaten every team at home beating them is pretty good effort by pakistan
yup lack of professionalism and hint of casual attitude on field by Rizwan , Game went closer because of that and it had potential to cost us the game in the endI would kick Rizwan out of the team for at least 1 game. That was such a LAZY keeping for not to properly backing up the fielder with all of his experience. That just epitomizes Pakistan professional culture - lazy, laid back , cavalier!
Pakistan were the No. 1 ODI team before the 2023 World Cup. And what happened after that? What are you even talking sri lanka is ranked 4th are top team better than so called bazz ball england who are number 8 and sri lanka has beaten every team at home beating them is pretty good effort by pakistan
Still doesn't change the fact sri lanka has been great odi team are ranked 4th in the world for a reason where as so called bazzballer england might play qualifiers that's tell you a huge difference pakistan played really well to beat this full strength sri Lankan team.Pakistan were the No. 1 ODI team before the 2023 World Cup. And what happened after that?
Absolutely. They can get away from this horrible, unprofessional, and lazy cricket against teams which are pretty similar to them, but not against the top tier teams.Pakistan lucky to win this one and SL will feel they have let one slip through their grasp. Pakistan batted horribly for the first half of the game and bowled horribly for most of the game with poor lines, horrific fielding, non stop wides and conceded a whopping 31 extras.
They played a similar match vs SA in the 2nd ODI but SA took advantage and gave them a proper thrashing. It shows why gulf remains between sides like SL and other top sides where you don't get that same respite.
Fakhar & Babar need to figure out their issues and find ways to get some runs. Both remain woefully out of form.
It's far better than most T20Is and Tests.Has been a very enjoyable match so far. ODI cricket is truly unrivalled as a format.
The ODI Super League could give alot more meaning to some of these bilateral ODIs.
Great ODI teams perform in ICC tournaments too. Anyone can win bilaterals at home and against B & C teams of other countries, what matters is how well you do when there are real stakes at play. England have been thoroughly poor in bilaterals and ICC tournaments so they are not even in the conversation.Still doesn't change the fact sri lanka has been great odi team are ranked 4th in the world for a reason where as so called bazzballer england might play qualifiers that's tell you a huge difference pakistan played really well to beat this full strength sri Lankan team.
T20 bilaterals just need to end. They are so pointless considering the amount of franchise cricket that goes on now. On top of that every T20I series these days is a 5-match series. It's far better than most T20Is and Tests.
Would absolutely love to see a comeback of tournaments like Sharjah Cup and Tri series in AustraliaT20 bilaterals just need to end. They are so pointless considering the amount of franchise cricket that goes on now. On top of that every T20I series these days is a 5-match series.
AgreedAnd test too
Lol england are on verge of playing qualifiers which world are you living in they are ranked 8 might play qualifiers where as sri lanka has been winning against all teams at home ranked 4 pakistan done well to beat them.It was a pretty poor performance by Pakistan batters. Fakhar, Babar, Agha & Talat all consumer far too many balls.
SL also batted poorly.
If it was England, Australia or India batting on this belter, 375 runs in 50 overs would have been standard.
Don’t read too much into the rankings buddy.Lol england are on verge of playing qualifiers which world are you living in they are ranked 8 might play qualifiers where as sri lanka has been winning against all teams at home ranked 4 pakistan done well to beat them.
It was an excellent comeback with the bat, but I thought they were quite poor and undisciplined with the ball. Multiple dropped catches, 26 runs in wides(!), 29 extras in total. Some pretty questionable tactics at times aswell going too pace-heavy and not managing the over-rate at all. This was a very good performance by Pakistan, especially with the bat.
I said this then and I will say it again. It wasn't an easy pitch to bat on for the first 27-28 overs but Agha played really well and 299 was a good total on this pitch.
SL need to play a 3rd seamer ahead of Theekshana.
That cost them plenty .
I saw some balls swinging and seam - especially Naseem's first wicket. I did not watch the entire game. I am not questioning but wondering if the wicket was really flat?It was a pretty poor performance by Pakistan batters. Fakhar, Babar, Agha & Talat all consumer far too many balls.

I didn’t see the full game either. It was a flat track based on what I observed. SL tail enders almost chased the score.I saw some balls swinging and seam - especially Naseem's first wicket. I did not watch the entire game. I am not questioning but wondering if the wicket was really flat?
