Hafeez and Masood are openers while Baber is scoring runs at #4. Huge difference. False comparison.

He can't displace anyone in the middle order and Inzi wanted Azhar to replace an opener. Babar opening isn't too much of a stretch.

Azhar refused to open and hinted against the idea in the past as well when Inzi wasn't in charge.

Baber made the management and selectors aware that he should be considered for middle order positions. Plus, he should open in FC and List-A to be considered as test class opener. There are doubts over his temperament in longer format. Scoring runs at #4 doesn't make a case for opener.
