The Pakistan A team will be called the Shaheens moving forward.

I had a discussion with Cricket Australia about A tours. We are looking at an arrangement where our team plays in Australia and they come here and play.

Before 2022, we're hoping they will send an A team to Pakistan.

I'm looking at a 4 year cycle for A tours with Aus, Eng, SA and NZ.

We go to BD, SL but we don't play the other big nations much.

We need to get our players ready for conditions that they face across the world and we need to expose our guys to those countries.

He is very unlikely to get a game in the T20 games for the Shaheens. He is however part of the squad, so will obviously get the uniform in case he's needed to carry out drinks or come on as a substitute fielder.

You should announce a 15 men Test squad, a 15 men T20I squad, a 15 men Shaheen 4 day squad and a 15 men Shaheen T20 squad.

Brilliant move by PCB admin. It's a win in many ways- obviously get to judge & groom up the next generation of players, or those who perhaps star in short formats but do not get enough long format cricket.

Also clever to push for reciprocal A Tours- doubles the amount of quality matches & normalises western nations touring Pakistan again, paving another brick toward full tour normality. So it is a cricket win & a strategic win.

In a franchise based tournament it won't be PCB who wolud fund the project.

In the past the “A” or Shaheen team tours have proved useful in seeing which players may be knocking on the door for the National team. It’s also great exposure for the players.

Last year Abdullah and Saud did well in the Sri Lanka 4 day games and got selected for the test team.

Do we have any tours coming up in the next 6-12 months? This should be a priority for the Raja administration.

Bangladesh’s Under-19 cricket team is scheduled to visit Pakistan in the first week of November for a four-day and five one-day tour.

All the matches will be held at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.


Bangladesh Cricket Board’s game development manager, AEM Kaiser, couldn’t reveal the schedule of the series, but he hinted that the tour was likely to be finished by November 19.

‘Bangladesh U-19 team is expected to leave for Pakistan on November 1, but we cannot confirm to you the itinerary of the series as it would be published by the host board [PCB],’ said Kaiser.

it would make a lot more sense to have a trilateral FC tournament, each team plays the other and the top 2 play a final, say against SL and Bang reserves, all teams that are comfortable touring each other.

its not ideal prep but SL A and Bang A would be useful steps up to tests, and i would guess, not particularly difficult to organise with those boards.
