The main problem is that kids who play cricket don't play any other sports in Pakistan. In NZ, kids who play cricket in summer usually play rugby, soccer, hockey etc in winter.

Gul is past his prime and he's not a good option for even T20s now. When he was a beast in this format, he was still a quality ODI bowler and decent in Tests. Now he is just past his prime.
