No one is my favourite. Don't know what your on about :)) .

I'm just exposing you.

If he was picked in front of Junaid, you would say it's a great call by Inzi. :))) . Look at you trying to change goalposts. He was competing with Junaid for a spot. Whoever was selected you would have defended the decision. You literally are a Inzi apologist.

Earlier you said it's upto the management now. So if things go wrong it wont be Inzis fault. But if we do well you will give Inzi the credit . :)))

Once again, as the foremost authority on myself, I would have to disagree with your claims. Junaid deserves his place and Amir, in my opinion also deserved to be selected over Faheem Ashraf. However, I can understand why Inzamam dropped him and respect that decision since it is based on merit.

Inzamam has done his job perfectly and in case you did not notice, he won't be playing in this World Cup. Win or lose, Inzamam has done his bit and the rest is obviously up to the players. One can select a team of ATGs and if they don't play as well as they can, are you then going to blame the selectors for picking them? Absolutely irrational.

I wonder how Umar Akmal is feeling? Most likely the decision to omit him from the WC and squad to play England means farewell to his international career. Looked so promising when he started many years back until indiscipline ruined him. That is what happens when you take your place for granted thinking you are world class! He can join his brother Kamran in crying their eyes out:((:((.

The squad is on the expected lines except for Mohammad Amir missing out. It was expected though as he wasn't picking any wickets. He still has chance against England though.

Wish they dropped Malik, like for real watching the guy captain in SA, PSL, and against Aus, was just painful, he won't do anything in England either. Such a waste of the #5 position.

With the players we have available I think this is a pretty good squad.

Fakhar and Imam were always going to make it - and given their recent performance it's definitely the right call. Abid looked very impressive against Aus, so it would be good to have a third opener there to support Fakhar and Imam if need be.

Babar, Malik, Harris & Hafeez have proved to be the best middle order batsmen we have. The only other option would have been Rizwan, however, I would prefer Harris over Rizwan any day of the weak, meanwhile the other 3 are automatic selections given their experience and recent performances.

Sarfraz - well let's hope he justifies his place in the team and as captain inshallah. He's left much to be desired as of late but nothing good can come from dropping the captain before a WC.

Faheem is a good call in England I believe. He can be handy with the ball and the bat and is probably the right call ahead of Asif Ali in English conditions.

Shadab and Imad are our two main spinning options who are also more than handy with the bat so can't argue with them two being in the team.

Hassan and Shaheen have been our front line Pacers in recent times so they had to be included.

The Junaid Vs Shinwari question was an interesting one, however, I guess Junaid was given the nod due to his recent successes as well as success in the 2017 CT.

The final question mark was Amir Vs Hasnain. Amir has simply not done enough to justify being picked in the final 15 in the recent times, meanwhile, Hasnain may prove to be our dark horse.

Don't forget - 10 years ago in 2009 it was an 17 year old Amir who made his debut in the T20 WC and exploded into the scene out of no where.

10 years later in 2019 it's a 18 year old Hasnain who has been selected for the WC and will inshallah make a big impact.

The best possible playing 11 could be:

1) Fakhar Zaman
2) Imam ulhaq
3) Babar Azam
4) Haris Sohail
5) Mohammad Hafeez
6) Sarfaraz Ahmed (c)
7) Asif Ali
8) Shadab Khan/Imad Wasim
9) Hasan Ali
10) Junaid Khan
11) Shaheen Shah Afridi

Batting is weak so Asif comes in at 7. Junaid and Shaheen will share the new ball and Hasan, Imad, Haris and Hafeez carry till the last 10. This line up gives us batting till 8 or 9 as Hasan Ali can hit the long ball too and good pace attack lead by Junaid.

Hasnain is selected based on what exactly? Pace and young age?
Junaid has been selected on what basis? Reputation? Why not Amir then?
Rizwan misses out even though he was our best bat against AUS.
Shinwari misses out despite averaging 19.

A pace attack of Shaheen, Hasan and Hasnain is gonna get smashed for 300+. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Inzi needs to go ASAP.

Terrible, terrible squad.

Pakistan named their provisional ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2019 squad on Thursday, 18 April.

Here are the five main talking points from the announcement.

No Amir… yet

He’s still only 27, but Mohammad Amir has experienced enough ups and downs to fill a whole 15-man squad’s worth of careers. Being left out of Pakistan’s preliminary squad for the World Cup is quite a turnaround for a player who less than two years ago was Player of the Match as his side astonishingly claimed the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against India.

Since then, he has gone wicketless in nine out of the 14 ODIs he has played, and averaged an eye-watering 92.60 with the ball. It’s been quite some fall from grace.

Don’t miss England v Pakistan

Amir will, however, have one last chance to show he can cut it before the cut-off for World Cup squad finalisation. He, along with the big-hitting Asif Ali, have been included for next month’s ODI series and one-off T20I against England. A clutch of strong performances, and each could yet force their way back into the reckoning.

Given that England’s Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan find themselves in similar situations, and that the two sides are among the tournament favourites, it could be a key encounter to watch for a hint on how the World Cup could unfold, and who could be the key players.

No Rizwan, at all

While Amir missed out only in part, one player omitted altogether is Mohammad Rizwan, who has deputised for Sarfaraz Ahmed in recent times behind the sticks. Given that he scored two centuries in Pakistan’s 5-0 series defeat to Australia, he has reason to feel hard done by. That decision also leaves Pakistan without a true back-up keeper.

The rise of the young pacers

Mohammad Hasnain would be the youngest player named in a World Cup squad so far, were it not for the fact that Shaheen Shah Afridi, also picked by Pakistan, is a day younger. The two have much else in common; they’re raw, precocious, and rapid. Both were born this millennium. Makes you feel old doesn’t it?

The revenge of the old stagers

Forgoing the passage of time altogether appear to be Shoaib Malik and Mohammed Hafeez, each of whom played in the 2007 World Cup, 12 years ago. Each are closer 40 than 30, and remain as vital to Pakistan’s hopes than ever; they’ve seen it all, and can offer vital guiding hands to the young upstarts in the squad.

People complaining about Hasnain being selected ahead of Amir are forgetting the fact that Amir can still get in the squad if he does well in the England series.

What is shocking is the fact that they’ve left Rizwan and Shinwari out completely even though both performed well in the last series.

Moreover, including Malik in the squad is just criminal consider how horrible his average is in England.

So this is the squad for the T20I series too? Never thought I'd see Abid Ali and Imam-ul-Haq in a T20 squad, Imam had a decent PSL tbf but I doubt he'll play the T20I anyway, I think Zaman and Azam will open.

I honestly feel gutted for both Rizwan and Shinwari, they aren't even in the 17 man squad for England ODI's which is a huge surprise, so their chances of playing in the 2019 WC squad are very slim barring injury or some huge flops in the England series.

Cant see the batting big totals to compete with best sides in competition, best hope is scraping 4th place and sneaking semi finals and then hope we can repeat 1992.

Sanity prevails????????????

No..... I think..........

We had a big big drawback of playing last 10 overs and no answer for that, who will finish the match? Even if we score 200/2 in 40 overs, in the end manage to score 270.

Usman Shinwari is a match winner, on a day he can ruin the opposition and on contrary you can argue vice versa.

ICC should change his rules of 15 players squad to 17 Players. Football has 18 players to select from. I think they should think abt this for next WC. Plus add more teams and take it to 14 teams WC.

Make it at least 16. I still feel every team has at least 1 player that should've made the squad.

More or less happy with the squad selection. Its probably the best we could come up with. Well done to inzi. There are somethings that i dont like such as:

- Malik should not have been picked. Instead Umar Akmal should have been picked.
- Shehzad should have been picked instead of Imam who is a jobber.

I cannot blame Inzi for selecting Hasnain - the other two options were Amir, and Shinwari. It was a risky move but i hope it pays off!

ofcourse Shehzad should have been picked :)))

FIFA allows 23 player squad in the world cup not 18.

Yes I think ICC should increase squad members to 18.

I am amazed at the negativity being shown by Pakistanis on this forum lately when the team is going for world cup. Every player who has said anything has been ripped apart. You expect this from serial attention seeekers & self loathers but not with majority.

Atleast let the WC happen and then show your frustration.

Big mistake leaving out Amir for Hasnain.

Hasnain is going to be smashed all over the ground.

Junaid is trash and a shell of his former self.

This team isn't making the semi finals,

Junaid is not even the bowler he was in the CT 2017.

The less said about Faheem the better.

This is shaping up to be similar to CT 2013

Amir won you CT, what have Junaid and Hasnain done?

you're not winning the world cup with the likes of faheem and junaid

Faheem and Junaid haven't won you anything.

Amir has.

Correction, only Faheem hasn’t won us anything.

Junaid murdered the Indian batting lineup in India.

Yes, 7 years ago.

What has Amir done since? Others have performed better..wayyyy better.

Won it on he’s own? No. Fakhar was the main factor. Junaid was also part of CT. Hasnain is new so it’s rather silly to be asking what he has done.

He hasn't done anything but to drop him for the World Cup in the same conditions he won you the Champions Trophy is ridiculous. He surely should have been there in place of Junaid or Faheem, who are absolute garbage.

Do you not know India are the best chasers going around with the Top 3 able to chase almost anything? Not to mention how flat the pitch was if Pakistan is scoring 340?

Did Kohli, Dhawan and Sharma get dismissed all on their own? Why didn't somebody else dismiss them then?

Chokli - If Amir is this worldbeating bowler and proves it in the England ODIs, then he'll be in the 15. Simple.

However his ODI form has gone downhill since CT17. Even in more bowler friendly conditions like NZ he did nothing.

Faheem is an awful decision, however Junaid played much more of a role in winning us the CT than Amir.

Junaid picked 8 wickets during 2017 Champions trophy while Amir picked 5 wickets.

Junaids performance in winning CT 2017 was no less by any stretch.

Why didn't Junaid take their wickets then?

You are asking stupid questions. Amir does not deserve selection. End of. Stop crying.

Him being dropped isn't justified when you have Faheem and Junaid in the side

...who both have better averages in taking wickets. Isn't that what a FRONTLINE bowler should be doing? Taking wickets? Or are they there because they were once a young prospect?

Do you know the respective averages of Junaid and Amir in England and in ODIs, generally speaking?

You select players on based of their current form. Amir don't have the appetite to perform these days. He is a dead horse

World Cup hasn't even begun and Junaid is proving me right.

Horrible selection.

Usman Shinwari deserved a spot more than Junaid for out performing him versus Australia.

Anyhow, Junaid should be replaced by Amir or Shinwari.

Getting smashed by a club side is ridiculous.

My post still stands. Junaid did more to win that CT than Amir did.

Yet Sarfraz calls Hafeez and Malik the backbone of the team.

What else he is supposed to say? He will get his "you know what" fired from the team if he speaks the truth. He is just endorsing the squad he is given by Inzimam. Every captain has done that in the past!

Real culprit is Inzimam..... who selected Malik, Hafeez and Imam.

Hafeez and Malik were selected to make Imam look good.... and you watch, Imam will end up scoring a few runs more than Hafeez and Malik.... and our navieve fans will believe that Imam was great selection because he scored more runs than Malik.

You know, why Viv is cherished so much? We have seen batsman with high average but low SR, and we have seen many batsmen with high SR but poor Average. Viv was one who scored that volume of runs at 47/91 stats in that era, which easily could have been 60+/100+ debuting 35 years later.

Now, first time in my long career as cricket enthusiast, I see a couple of Batting Backbone, who are at the bottom of the table both in average & SR column .... that too after combined experience of 38 years. Remember, these stats are built on cricket from early 20s to mid 30s of age - now, I hope they match their usual best at this ripe age of 40+ ...... quite a revolution from the revolutionary indeed.

This guy was big fan of malik and hasan ali

Lol Imam is needed for this side.
