We have been exceptionally overrated against spin for years. Our last two great players of spin were Younis and Inzamam. Everyone else has been overrated because of the general perception that Asian batsmen are masters of playing spin.

The big takeaway is England's performance. 10 wickets in 1-5 overs shows clear weakness against spin. Teams have worked this out by now - Tahir, Shadab, Shakeeb have opened in the first 3 games - and the England openers are more cautious as seen today.

It is misleading because of the sample size which is extremely small.

Its only because Fakhar chances his hand against spinners specially in the powerplays and ends up skying one often. However it is quite a meaningless stat.

England's average is really low. No wonder teams target the openers with spin.
