In fact, not only part time bowlers but also those who stand a level even below them: even those who´ve been prescribed some exercise by their orthopaedist and hence bowl just for the sake of some muscle movement in the arm.
Yesterday, when Bhuvneshwar walked off due to an injury and Shankar came in to ball, I said to my sister, "This guy is sure to get a wicket here," and he only had to bowl two balls to complete the over. My prophecy got fulfilled off the very first ball as my sister gives me a stare. "Don´t blame me!", I uttered.
On Wednesday it was Finch who turned the game on its head by removing Hafeez. In World T20 2012, it was Yuvraj and Kohli (and I laugh as I type) who were made to look like Malcolm Marshall and Michael Holding bowling as a pair. In World Cup 2011, again it was Yuvraj. Some time before that in a Test match, it was Marcus North I think. Very recently, it was Glenn Maxwell who took three wickets in the last over to win Australia a match by one-run in the UAE I think.
Pakistan must address this problem. I wonder what causes it. Maybe the batsmen get too greedy seeing a part-timer and end up over-attacking?
*although I´m the one to add this thread, it is a friend of mine who deserves the main credit for bringing my attention to it. He´s also a member of the forum over here.*
