So since 2018, this is how our guys have stacked up against teams who will be in the World Cup 2019. Two worrying signs:

1. The lack of 100s. We have 2, one of them made today. The Indian top order has 16

2. The abject performance of Malik and Babar. Poor average, lack of 100s and pathetic strike rate. These two are sadly a lock to play in the XI but we need some bold calls if this conitnues

And these are the numbers when limited to the top ranked ODI sides since CT17:

can someone please show this to Inzi and Mickey, but they dont know. Still gloating over how we beat Zimb 5-0

Both matches we won in SA.

Nothing special scoring 49 chasing 266 and 41 chasing 165. Even, Imam scored more runs than him at better strike rate on both occasions.

Long story short, Babar has not played a single match winning ODI inning that have put people in awe and he is Pakistan's best batsman.

Babar did what had to be done just like the argument you made for Finch. His team did the rest.

It's not a long story to begin with. Babar played innings which led to victories so by definition they are match winning. He does not need to leave the average fan in awe, former SA cricketers were mighty impressed by his performances in SA.

Finch scored a century, Babar's scores were in the 40s. Babar may have received some praise from former SA cricketers but he did not change any outcome.

Tests 0-3
ODIs 2-3
T20s 1-2

Like I said he did what was necessary and Pakistan won. He remained not out in the 2nd.

One player can only do so much in a sport of eleven players. Especially a young player who hasn't even hit his prime.

Let's be honest, Fakhar,Sarfaraz,Malik ,and Hafeez aren't good enough to score regulary against top teams. Yet all these 4 will play at the WC.
