The second Test between Pakistan and West Indies promises to be a battle of spin and adaptability. Pakistan's approach is clear—they will continue to prepare spin-friendly surfaces that challenge the opposition from the start. West Indies, coming off a competitive showing in the first Test, will look to improve execution, with Kraigg Brathwaite urging his team to build on their moments of dominance.

Jomel Warrican’s impressive figures in the first Test and Kemar Roach's pace make West Indies a well-rounded threat, while their lower-order contributions and improved use of the sweep shot add to their resilience. However, Pakistan’s home conditions remain daunting, with the crackling winter pitches favoring their spinners and placing heavy pressure on the visitors' adaptability.

As Aaqib Javed defends Pakistan's spin-heavy strategy, the stakes remain high. While the pitches deliver victories for now, any slip in results could reignite criticism of the approach.

Pakistan announces playing XI for the second Test against West Indies.

There is one change in Pakistan's playing XI.

Kashif Ali will make his Test debut for Pakistan tomorrow.

The right-arm fast bowler Kashif Ali replaces Khurram Shehzad in the playing XI.

So Kashif Ali replaces Khurri in the bonus category hopefully he won't be required too much

Don't mind the young pacer being given a chance. Not sure how many overs he will bowl though.

That's good , something is better than nothing , at least a new pacer got some exposure. Hope he is at least a medium fast if not fast medium and not another trundler like Shazad and many others we are producing lately. Not expecting too much on a spinner's wicket but good to see a new face.

Shehzad definitely needed some rest after his marathon spell at the first test , that's what you call workload management.

Khurrum Manzoor demolition of Kashif Ali

Best of luck to the lad in a test match, different format, different day.

such a waste of space and cruel to debut young pacer on such a pitch , on such lottery spin wicket you need as many batsmen as you can, any batter in place of Shehzad was no Brainer, but that's maybe too much to expect from our management, why play a pacer just for sake of it , when he won't bowl even 10 overs combined in 2 innings.

I think they knew that he might not bowl many overs just like Khurram so why khurram should run the whole day for nothing. Instead they handed the debut to kashif.. Nothing wrong IMO...

West Indies will bat first and now Pakistan will struggle in this match , if West Indies set a target of more than 150 in the 4th inning , Pakistani batters will struggle .

Toss update:

West Indies have won the toss and have opted to bat

How many runs will west indies put up in the first innings

This is another rank-turner. Expecting low scores in this game as well...

He kept getting the ball to go in the entire over and then bowls an out swinger and gets the wicket. Quite a start for the debutant.

If he has variations he can be a decent limited over bowler too. At the moment he's just bowling in

Louis ,jungoo erc are club level cricketer. How they gets chance to play for international team?

In this west indies only athanaze looks like a decent batter, others are mediocre at best

What happened to darren bravo and Where is Chase ?

They are surely better than Jungoo and Louis etc .

What's the speed of kashif?
Bowling in the early 130s, which is an ideal pace.
Maintains a good length.
Primarily relies on generous in-swing, with the occasional straight delivery as a variation.
Didn’t notice any away swing.

The game plan is similar to Bumrah's, just with less pace.

Kashif will need to fix his no ball issues if he wants to have an international cricket.

Pace is same from what we've seen from all our pacers recently. High 120's to low 130's. He seems to look quicker off the pitch than you would expect but at that pace, your margin of error is razor thin.

They are not interested in playing test cricket
Chase is pretty much interested to play test so was Bravo.

Bravo was rated very High in Indies cricket and People's were compared him with Lara.

Kashif looks quicker than the speed gun which is a good thing.

In domestics I thought he looked around 135k but here he's well below. Maybe he can crank it up a bit more but he's bowling well rn.

A pace bowler has taken a wicket for Pakistan in home conditions after
