Pakistan bowled out for 154 in the first innings, trailing by 9 runs at stumps on Day 1 of the second Test against the West Indies

Babar’s groupies have been praying for his hundred while they question Pakistan’s spin friendly policy, not even foreigners have been this bothered about the conditions, they understand Pak are entitled to best exploit home conditions. These are not fans of the Pak team, either Saya shills or Covid casuals.

There is literally no pressure on WI here, other than capability there is no reason why WI shouldn't score 150 here

Bad shots by Shakeel and Riz changed the complexion of this match. Pakistan will do very well not to lose the test match. Probably a fair result if West Indies win and the series is a draw. Batting has been atrocious from both sides.

And Shan, if you can't get tail out for 3 test matches. 2 here and 1 in South Africa you are not a good captain. Give the captaincy to Rizwan as he might bat with responsibility instead of desperately trying to get a 50.

Outside one partnership in the first innings, Pak has batted consistently poor & now the batters are in the trenches to save this test. If WI manage to set a target north of 120, I see this being a 1-1 series.

A fair result

when you allow a team off the hook from 50/8 to 163, you deserve nothing but a loss. Shame on you Shani and bowlers. And less said about batters the better.

Shan is not fit for International level, even someone like Imad or Shadab would have scored more , and bowled a few overs.

Your overall cricket infrastructure and set up loses in the long term bhai.
Long term planning should be done at domestic level with proper coaches. Different grounds should have different kind of surfaces . Batters must adapt to them.

India in last series against England lost first test but still persisted with turners.

Exactly , that is why Pakistan bowlers need to finish the tail. You have to learn that.

Also , its time that Babar scores a winning knock. Needs to take this opportunity and say that I will chase down whatever WI set.

If you want world to remember you as great and not good, you gave to win from such situations

The one ball that dismsisaed Salman Ali Agha was rapid. He hardly had time to bring the bat down. Just skidded through off the pitch. Those kind of deliveries are very hard to play.

Those turners and these turners aren't the same. These pitches are a disgrace for international cricket.

I hope the ICC takes action.

Noman Ali addressing the press conference after Day 1 of the first Test against the West Indies:

About his Hat-trick:

"First of all, I thank Allah greatly for granting me such a big honor. It was expected to be a match like this in these conditions, and we will do our best to get the opposition out quickly and regain control of this match."

"This hat-trick is dedicated to my parents and my daughters, Ansha and Aiza. This is my first hat-trick, and it's also the first hat-trick at Multan Stadium. I dedicate it to my parents and daughters."

Pakistan's performance:

"We need to make sure we don't allow extra runs, as we gave away a few more runs in the last innings. In the next innings, we will make sure not to repeat these mistakes and try to get them out as quickly as possible."

Pakistan's bowling struggles against tailenders:

"I don't think we can say that we couldn't get them out. We were trying to dismiss them, but a few mistakes led to extra runs. We will make sure we don't repeat those mistakes in the next innings and get them out as soon as possible."

Pitch and the Test match conditions:

"In this kind of condition, this type of match was expected. Looking at the past three Test matches, we have won in similar conditions, so we will try to continue our winning streak here as well."

Review decision during the match:

"Regarding the missed review, there was no anger or any such reaction. We took a chance, but the ball didn’t come as we expected. We couldn’t take the review and later realized it was a mistake."

The Short duration of the match:

"In the past, when we used to have full five-day matches, people criticized that there were no results. Now, results are coming within two or three days, so I think it's better this way."

Had common sense prevailed , you are 1-0 in series with one to go should have gone for a routine wicket to have more chance to clinch the series rather than this lottery ,

Excess of anything is bad
Absolutely my point. Hit the nail on the head when you are leading in two match series why are you preparing this. Make usual wicket and bore us to death but atleast win series

West Indies lead by nine runs after Noman's hat-trick on 20-wicket day

Noman Ali became the first Pakistan spinner to register a Test hat-trick en route to his splendid spell of 6-41 before West Indies fought back to finish the first day of the second Test at Multan Cricket Stadium with a nine-run lead.

Gudakesh Motie and Jomel Warrican shared seven wickets between them as Pakistan were all out for 154 in response to the visitors’ first-innings total of 163.

Mohammad Rizwan (49, 75b, 8x4s) and Saud Shakeel (32, 62b, 2x4s) had done well to lift Pakistan with 68-run stand for the fifth wicket after sliding to 51-4. Saud’s departure courtesy of a brilliant catch by Roach in the deep was followed by little resistance from the lower order barring Sajid Khan’s unbeaten 16 off 20 balls.

Debutant Kashif Ali was the last Pakistan batter dismissed while attempting to steal a single on the final ball of the 47th over, rounding off a 20-wicket day – 16 of which fell to spinners.

Pakistan had dominated the opening hour of the day after Kraigg Brathwaite won the toss and elected to bat first. Kashif struck in his first over of Test cricket with the wicket of Mikyle Louis for four while Sajid removed debutant Amir Jangoo for a duck in the following over.

Left-arm spinner Noman soon entered the wickets column and made history in the 12th over of the day by becoming the fifth Pakistan bowler to take a Test hat-trick – first since Naseem Shah against Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in 2020.

Noman got the scalps of Justin Greaves, Tevin Imlach and Kevin Sinclair on successive deliveries to leave West Indies reeling at 38-7.

Motie, batting at No. 9, then conjured a solid half-century (55, 87b, 4x4s) and added 109 runs for the last two wickets to take West Indies to a fighting total. He was ably supported by Roach (25, 45b, 2x4s) and Warrican (36 not out, 40b, 1x4, 2x6s).

Scores in brief (Day 1 of 5)

2nd Test – Pakistan vs West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan

Toss: West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first

West Indies 163, 41.1 overs (Gudakesh Motie 55, Jomel Warrican 36 not out, Kemar Roach 25; Noman Ali 6-41, Sajid Khan 2-64)

Pakistan 154, 47 overs (Mohamamd Rizwan 49, Saud Shakeel 32, Sajid Khan 16 not out, Kamran Ghulam 16; Jomel Warrican 4-43, Gudakesh Motie 3-49, Kemar Roach 2-15)

Pakistan cannot play spin either. On mambas like these average spinners like Warrican and Motie also become monsters.

Ball should not be spinning like this on Day-1 of a Test. This Test can be over on Day-2 itself. No one can play spin.

We were never going to win against windies..but if you look at our wickets they were all gifts and finally how on earth last 2 wickets of their wickets get more than 100 this match and 70 last one explain

Rizwan is like "aandhon mein kaana raja". He is better than other clowns.

Others need to take responsibility as well especially Zimbabar.

Sajid tinda bowled poorly no way he should go for this many runs on this pitch.

Indian curators would be proud of this pitch.

These pitches are so much better than those
GT roads ramiz and others prepared before.Keep em coming.

How a team can concede 165 after the opposition on backfoot at 38/7 (!).

Pakistan is the worst team for being unable to pick up last 3 wickets.

This is not cricket bro. By all means do make spin friendly pitches but these are lottery pitches and you will also lose random test matches on these pitches against good teams.

For all those crying about the pitch? Did you even watch todays game? Most wickets fell to incompetent batting rather then unplayable deliveries.

Such pitches are bad for the our batsmens confidence. You don't want them to go on away tours averaging 20 at home.
Only makes them more insecure, this is still a young side at this level.

Pitches during England series were fine

Pakistan's grip on this game is tenuous. A score in the vicinity of 150 would firmly swing the pendulum in West Indies' favor

I believe a target of 150 here would be like 300 here for PCT. So despite bowlers giving their 100 percent, batters need to step up tomorrow.

Our batsmen are just poor full stop, regardless of the surface. Most of the batsmen got out to pathetic shots, rather then good bowing.

Playing on roads isn't going to develop any of these batsmen

I disagree.

They need match practice on these pitches (as seen with what just happened). This was a stress-free practice match with no WTC pressure.

Pakistan knows it will be using these tactics moving forward, so they need batting practice on these wickets. They might have faltered here but it will give them new insight on technical issues and/or where changes need to be made in the batting composition or final XI.
