57/0 apparently.

Paul Radley @PaulRadley

Fawad Alam went to run out Strauss just now, his throw smashed into the stumps from 10 yards away - and the bails stayed on #rockhardstumps

:)) :fawad :))

Panesar ripping through us again.

Lol, we're worse than KP. Remember Harris last year?

Finally England's batsman showing signs of their true form. Now they'll come into the first test firing on all cylinders.

Just out of interest, did Sri Lanka get any warm ups in Dubai? They had a bad first innings against Pakistan due to rusty batting (and Junaid's brilliance).

That's the thing. Neither SL nor SA had warmups. Why does England get warmups then?

^ because their board made sure they got the itinerary that suited their preparations.

England's day through out.

England would look to make another 100 and declare at lunch it seems.

Problem is that this is not a PCB XI. We need actual board members playing. Bring in :inti :zaka

On a serious note, England control the match but the tail-enders have been encouraging. Yasir Shah and Mohammad Talha the standouts with the ball and credit to Raza Hasan for his 50.

once again England's only glaring weakness seems to be their bowling against the tail. how do our bowlers continually sweep aside the top six and let the lower order add a hundred odd? it's infuriating. everything else in test cricket looks pretty good going forward - even the bad days result in 250 all out instead of the old 120, which ensures the English team are usually 'in' the game, and often find ways to create winning positions over the course of the match.

Poor stuff from PCB X1s batsmen today! pretty much everyone blew there chances of a possible call up anytime soon.

Those moaning about lack of chances for Sarfraz Ahmed can stop moaning after his duck today!

England's batting is really strong. Pakistan would need to get through it somehow when it comes to the test match.

Thanks to PCB for arranging this match, England is now fully prepared for the test series. Now there are only two possible outcomes for the series: Draw or England win.

As the 'home' team, they were responsible for providing enough practice matches.

I think the reaction is a bit OTT on this. Just wait for the real tests to start before assessing a team.

50s for Strauss and Trott. Good signs. KP will do fine, he's got a bit under his belt. And Bell will be fine once he sees other people getting centuries since he is sublime when not under pressure (he's a useless little ginger, but quite a good bat when others take the pressure onto themselves)

very worrying, all batsmen now shown batting form except Pietersen and Bell. And Bell might do that today.

Hopefully we'll be able to bat for a draw and deny England the confidence of a victory.

Onions & Tremlett dismiss the openers. Toooooo easy! :D

This thread has died, wonder why? :p

Both openers gone. Perfect chance for someone in the middle order to bat 50 overs and shine.

Hoping for some of our future batsmen to shine but they are too fragile I guess so not much interest left in the game. Good game for Yasir Shah , at least one positive for us. Good game for england before the real thing.

Onions gets Mohammad Ayub for a duck.

Shah by far & away the best player for the PCB XI.

PCB X1 16/3

Really poor stuff this from PCB batsmen! Looks like a 2nd warm up game win for england here unless some how the batsmen can save face!

These are our two best batsman in, so hopefully they can change things around. Been disappointing batting from PCB XI so far.

Looks like Usman favourite shot is through the slips!

Is PCB right to stick with Imran Farhat for now? bcz both Nasir Jamshed & Afaq Raheem have been unimpressive.

Why are we playing so aggressively? We just need to draw. :|

Fawad making a statement here, And that statement is, "I've finally found a helmet that fits my head." :fawad

I meant for Tests Is Imran Farhat rightfully a backup opener?.
In ODI's Shehzad is better.
Both Afaq Raheem & Nasir Jamshed need more games i guess.

Yes , the guys had to take this chance but probably the pressure was too much on them and I know that nasir jamshed is a lot better than Imran Farhat.

Both Usman and Fawad have first class averages of 50+. Fawad's is closer to 60 in fact. Hope they play out the remaining overs of the day.

Partnership of 48 runs from 8.5 overs........

this is a better approach by fraud and usman rotating the strike and going for their shots.

Paul Radley @PaulRadley Close
Umar Akmal is 50* in Pak practise game & just hit a 6 thru press box and out without killing anyone. Media box isnt even on the same field

lool

These English journalists are so ignorant about Pakistani players.

Oh, so we are the world #1 bowling side now? Going off some PPers, England's bowlers are a bunch of pie throwers.

and going by England supporters on here Pakistan is crap and England gonna whitewash with worlds no 1 team

Fawad Alam should play instead of Asad Shafiq.... We need a left hander in de middle order

Usman gone to monty!

88/4

All down to Fawad now. He needs some support here!

I don't think anyone has called Pakistan crap, mediocre, but not crap. I think i'm the only person who has predicted a whitewash, but that's just a bit o banter with the Pak lads. :D
