What's new

Pakistan defeat Australia by 45 runs in T20I Tri-Series with brilliant all-round show

He is mediocre for the role assigned to him.

Poor at power hitting, and okayish at bowling.

LOL sending him when you're 170+ in the last over and then expecting him to get 20+ in 6 balls!!

He's performed very well in Tests against IRE and ENG and at run a ball. That's something plus his power is 2nd only to Asif Ali in this XI.

Bowling wise he usually takes wickets against the run of play and has a decent ER and AVG in LOIs.

Proper allrounder if he improves his batting.

Fahim gets his reward - rightly got another over and a deserved wicket.

Faheem Ashraf gets Travis Head, middle stump gets uprooted :out

Good bowling!

A very bad day for the persistent whiners today. This team has shut them down again.

Wow, that was close. Shaheen needs to be more consistent. You can see the quality in him.

Someone send an IV drip for the good doctor Mamoon

ANOTHER WICKET, just wow just WOWWW. Pakistani Fast bowling factory in the WORKS, ladies and gentleman. Shaheen, take a bow lad.

Imagine Shaheen getting the last wicket of the final next year..........................

Alongwith Varun brother. I am concerned about how his summer is going to turn out.

Shaheen getting that late movement into the right hander. Exciting prospect for sure once he develops further and gets more experience.

Extremely impressed by how Pakistan team management including Mickey Arthur have handled Shaheen so far. His development has been incredibly good.

They are keeping him around the national team, giving him the odd game here and there. Not burdening him much. I think in a year's time he will known around the world as the heir to the fast bowling throne.

Despite being so tall, Shaheen looks a very poor bowler when he starts bowling short. However he looks really good when he starts bowling good length deliveries. To become a great bowler, Shaheen at the moment needs more First Class cricket. A country stint would absolutely rocket his career.

It's the surprise factor. He will be figured out soon and the honeymoon will be over. :sendoff

D’Arcy Short needs to get a move on.

He’s on 16 off 23 balls.

Meanwhile Shadab’s first over goes for just 3 runs.

With Finch and Maxwell gone I think we are on the top.

Great to see Asif Ali hitting boundaries against the big guys and Fakhar making more than 50 runs.

Is this Australia's normal bowling line up?

S Afridi is must for WC, Pakistan needs to give him 10-15 ODIs before WC.

First off he is different from all others, extra height gives us something different to throw at teams. Secondly, he has pace, can bring the ball in, bounce and reverse. This could be Pakistan X factor against like of ENG/IND in WC. Is he playing Odi series??

Usman in now. Good pace attack this with Hasan on the bench and junaid waiting for his turn.

What good is about Shaheen is that he isn't afraid to bowl the fuller length.
Fuller length = wicket, as simple as that.

In T20’s,this is more or less their best lineup

Agreed. Shaheen is raw and has to be managed carefully. You can't play him every game as he's still learning and hasn't had much domestic experience. His body is also still developing - you can't run a young pacer into the ground.

But he's in the squad mixing with the national team, the coaches are seeing him first hand, and gets to play the odd game.

Starc isn't playing, but in saying that he hasn't played a T20 since September of 2016...also I don't know why Zampa, the legspinner isn't playing

Exactly. Its really tempting to play him in more games when you see him bowling jaffas. But they have been patient and rightly so. He needs to be managed well till he feels completely at ease.

You caught Australia on their off day. #Mamnoon

Good point...everyone one else can have frequent off-days but not Pakistan...and when Pakistan win, it's just a fluke...and when one of the players who explodes on the scene at the beginning but then has a dip in form is a hack (like Fakhar) but when he improves, not a word in praise....

Another wicket for Shaheen. Hahahaha he makes it look so EASY. Yorker. Cartwheeled that stump. Boy oh boy!
