What's new

Pakistan defeat Zimbabwe by six wickets in first T20I of 3-match series

Hafeez averaging 96 in last 10 T20 innings. I dont think there are many better batsmen world cricket has to offer in T20 internationals in last 1-2 years.

Hafeez is in excellent form right now. I would not drop him from T20s but just remember he is 40 years old, father time catches up with you eventually. So I wouldn't be doing too much banghra of his recent form as it could come crashing down at anytime.

Ngrava having wood over Haider till now with his angle. Haider needs to practice more against left arm angle in nets (He has Shaheen and Wahab), still remember how Amir got him with inswing in PSL. Its a tough angle but he will be able to improve his game by putting in more effort and time.

Agreed. He has more then decent enough left arm bowlers to practice against.

Heartfelt condolences for those who thought Haider was next Babar

Seems people are finally starting to understand what I have been saying about Hafeez for years. He was my favorite batsman in Pakistan until Babar took over, but even still there's things about him I like way more than Babar. Just watching him hit the ball with such ease is so delightful to see, he always looks stylish at the crease, he's reliable like I've been saying, and a most importantly.

Glad he's getting the props he deserves in the twilight of his career after receiving immense hate for years.

Sir Misbah is doing a great job with Haider as a batting coach.

He has always performed for Pakistan, be it with the bat or ball.

Right now at the age of 40, he is a better T20 player than Kohli who is 32. Dont use words like Bhangra

Well since Babar has been made captain, his batting has not been affected. Fans were predicting he wouldn't even be able to put bat on ball after being made captain .:))

Wasim Khan thinks that Misbah is good enough as a batting coach. Another mistake from Wasim Khan

I think Babar’s game is getting better and better even after becoming captain. As of now it looks like he is liking that extra responsibility and his game is responding accordingly. Will have to see more against top sides but so far the signs have been fine.

He has always performed for Pakistan, be it with the bat or ball.

Some people wanted him to retire after the 2017 Champions Trophy when some of his most impactful innings have come after that final since being moved down to the middle order. If only he had played more of his career at that number 4 spot instead of Misbah who only had one gear.

He has become a lot better since taking over the captaincy, playing more for the team now.

The problem with Hafeez is that he looks good but inevitably throws his wicket away when set..

Have said it multiple times that Haider really needs good guidance and coaching.

He had the best chance when during PSL last year he had Amla to work with and even then I said he should use this opportunity to drain as much knowledge of batting from him for all formats as possible. Overall the time wasn't that long either but still having him for a 2-3 weeks even is much better than nothing.

He needs to go to the academy and get some time with YK, Moyo go nurture him and he could probably do well.

Babar just needs to keep doing what he was doing before being made captain. Once batting he just think about scoring runs and not look to over complicate things because he is capatin.

Haider needs a lot improvement

I wouldn’t give up on him but Misbah as a batting coach is going to ruin him.

Hopefully Pakistan for once wins the toss tomorrow and we can see Babar score his first T20I hundred!

It feels like the cricket equivalent of Diego Maradona is batting , I dont get the same edge of the seat feeling watching any other batsman at the crease.

I think Misbah should be invited to another accountability meeting after Zim tour. Selection, direction, execution etc. All need some answers. :rizwan

Babar and Hafeez usually bat well together. I can remember a series against New Zealand 4 years ago . Hafeez and Babar were batting after we went 2 down early and the partnership was amazing.

A review of performance after every series should be part and parcel of the game.

Keeping a check on selection, performance and why some selected never played a single game should all be the questions.

Yeah I still remember watching that live lol, we were on pace to get like 350+ but Malik came in and destroyed all the momentum and I think we didn't even end up getting 300.

We got 280 odd and lost the game. Was brilliant batting nonetheless by those 2.

This is what I'm talking about Babar, you gotta clear the fence there or at least play it where there's no outfielder.

Yeah back then we never get 300+ so watching that was quite refreshing it looked as if it was Kohli and Sharma batting it was really something if only one of them had gone on to get a big 100.

Also now that I remember Corey Anderson smashed the ball to the keeper and Billy Bowden didn't give it out costing us the match I was furious!

Hafeez Don ko nazar lga de ham sab ne, still saw that timing on that four, only hafeez thing.

Hafeez not looked great in this innings. Probably lack of game time costing him here.

What a rubbish pitch, with inconsistent bounce. Trust Pakistan to make dodgy wickets for T20 cricket, while the world keeps serving up flat tracks to encourage their batters.

Anything loose and Hafeez will make biryani of the spinners

No reason why Abdullah Shafique or Rohail Nazir cannot debut in the next couple matches.

Evry youngster we give a chance flops...so y do we keep blaming the management

Ah yes the Babar demolition of Steyn, Hafeez probably promised to buy Babar lunch to soften Steyn up before that ODI series. :hafeez

Would have liked Khushdil to get decent time in the middle. Well never mind :moha

So my 15 over prediction didn't hold up oh well, at least I was partly right with Babar and Hafeez seeing it through.

All Rizwan needs to do is the bare minimum and he will be given a long rope.

I read earlier someone getting very excited at Rizwan taking a running catch of Wahab's bowling, saying Sarfaraz and Kamran would not have made it.

I get Prof is an integral part of the side but we are playing a listless Zim at home. I think we could have played both Abdullah and Rohail in place of Hafeez and Riz. If batting needed some bolstering we could have played Imad in place of Fahim.

Misbah as usual will never induct youngsters.

Man do people still hype up Bazid's commentary? I don't like it at all I actually prefer Wasim/Rameez over him, and Waqar.

Youngsters cant start winning the matches from the word go, they need time to develop and adjust to international cricket. Expectations of fans from youngsters just starting their career are unrealistic.
